Perhaps because he knew it was all bo11ocks?
The sum total of 0.08% of the Labour membership resigned, were expelled or received formal warnings in relation to anti-Semitism, and the Home Affairs Select Committee concluded that there was "no reliable, empirical evidence to support the notion that there is a higher prevalence of antisemitic attitudes within the Labour Party than any other political party." There remains no evidence whatsoever that Corbyn himself has ever said or done anything even vaguely anti-Semitic.
The real issue of course is support for Palestinians and/or criticism of Israel, which a large and well-funded lobby have successfully transmogrified into antisemitism; ironically, conflating Israel to mean 'all Jews' is in itself a breach of the IHRA definitions, but that document seems to be useful only as a convenient stick with which to beat anti-Zionists.
The biggest con trick of a generation, whereby tens of thousands of perfectly decent people were labelled as anti-semites, in a concerted effort to destroy one man.

Quote ="sally cinnamon"It's because she got the job of Chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee which is one of the most high profile. Similarly Hilary Benn got the Chair of Exiting the EU Select Committee.

Only backbenchers are allowed to chair a Select Committee, if you're in the Shadow Cabinet you have to resign the post.
A Select Committee chair has more real power to hold the government to account through Parliament, cross-examining Ministers and civil servants, requesting the publication of documents, than a Shadow spokesperson which is more about being a spokesperson in the media. So it was unlikely that Cooper or Benn would relinquish those roles. Also Select Committee chairs get about £15k pay increment on their MP salary, I don't think there's a pay award attached to being in the Shadow Cabinet so that would involve a pay cut too!
If Labour were to win the next election I would expect Cooper and Benn to go in the actual Cabinet.'"
Thanks, wasn’t aware of that.

| What happened to the islamophobia investigation all the Conservative contenders for leader agreed to including Johnson. It was quickly downgraded upon his election and not surprisingly was never mentioned in the right wing press. We heard of many members of the Conservative party being investigated for this very problem and let’s not forget who said they look like post boxes as one example.

The one absolute certainty is that Islamophobia is way more prevalent within the Troy Party than Anti-Semitism is/was within Labour.
However, the Tory press, who themselves like to peddle plenty of anti immigration headlines are somewhat more "sympathetic" toward Boris and the Tories.
They had decided that anti-Semitism was Corbyn's achilles heel and they never gave up with that line of attack.
Compare this to the stuff that Johnson himself has said and written over the years and the pattern of media output really isn't too difficult to follow.
Corbyn could have and should have dealt with the issue far better but, it still wouldn't have got him off the hook.
Meanwhile, Johnson remained bulletproof and still does.

The EHRC inquiry started around May 2019 and is expected to take up to 2 years to complete. Strangely, that didnt satisfy our corrupt media who continued to pick away at the AS theme until just after they got the result they wanted at the 2019GE.

What I find more worrying is how AS was weaponized to ensure Corbyn was unelectable. It would appear that some Labour party officials were involved, but how far does this undemocratic cancer spread?

It's absolutely appalling - and so many senior figures are implicated that it almost renders the new leadership, and their senior appointments, illegitimate.
Keir Starmer has a big test here - which I have no doubt he'll fail, given than he had the report for a week prior to the leak; and his first act when forced to respond, was to release a statement saying there'll be an investigation - but with a strong emphasis on finding out how it was leaked, rather than any condemnation for the vile behaviour of, for example, his top pick for General Secretary, who also happens to be married to one of the few MP's who survived into the new centrist shadow cabinet.

Absolutely true - and what's even more disturbing is that Corbyn's attempts to deal with it were deliberately stymied by Ian McNichol and his cronies, to damage the LOTO and his allies; not to mention their racism, sexism, misogyny and ableism - and effectively fraudulent use of membership fees to benefit their own faction of the party.
The Labour party is deeply rotten I'm afraid to say - and the most disturbing element of that rot is nothing to do with antisemitism; 0.08% of party members resigned or were expelled for genuine anti-Semitism - and rightly so - but the duplicity and bullying of disgusting plotters like McNichol, Oldknow, Ashworth, Tom Watson, Wes Streeting and many others, is the real and present danger. I struggle to see how they'll recover, because Keir Starmer is wet and ineffective - and seems to be directing his main effort to outing the whistle-blower rather than dealing with the problem. Several hundred thousand members joined the party because of Corbyn - wiping out its debt and giving it plenty of cash to work with; when they leave, for surely they will - I can't see Tony Blair and Starmer's other secret sources replacing all that money.
