Quote ="Standee"Yes, I would imagine it's not much more, maybe a 1000 at times, that is why I'd like to find a supplement that suits me, too much emphasis on getting thin (which is easy, eat less fatty!), can't get help from my GP or even private, they all say the same stuff "eat more" sorry, but if I don't have an apetite then how can I?'"
If there's nothing physically wrong, which only a specialist either NHS or private could ascertain, 800 calories a day is bordering on dangerous. There's apparently something such as starvation mode that your body enters into when you don't get enough food, resulting in a reduced appetite. This is bad, not just because it can lead to reduced organ function but also should you become ill, your body will not have the wherewithal to cope.
If I were you, I'd ask my GP to refer me asap. In the meantime, you could try "Ensure Plus Juce". I was prescribed this for around four months, following an operation and it's very easy to take (liquid form) with 330 calories per 200ml. I was on 4 a day plus an odd bit of toast and my weight and appetite is back to near normal.
