Your lot have had 2 and half years to sort out "Labours feckless overspending" without success. Its now time to stop using Labour as an excuse and start seeing that this government is useless.

And as I've told you on the thread on FB that saw you defriend me, wasn't it Thatcher who brought in the "benefit culture", putting people on incapacity benefit when they should have been on the dole actively looking for work???

My printer packed this up this week, I fancied one I had seen in Comet at Kingswood in Hull priced £149.99. I went online found a supplier for £99.99, printed it off, went back to Comet who priced matched it.

They are either pricing to high or selling too cheap, inevitable they have problems.

I also bought my iMac from there last year, just went in and got it off the shelf, no advice sought, but did pay for their engineer to come to mine and set it up and transfer my stuff over from my PC. When he arrived he said 'oh, its a Mac, I don't know much about these and asked if he could use my phone to speak to a colleague, who talked him through the process. Eventually it worked.

I listen to Radio 5 a lot when driving around and have noticed that all ConDem politicians only have two answers to questions on the current failing policies

1. 'its because of Labours reckless spending and borrowing'

2. 'the financial problems are global and not our fault'

The choice of answer depends on what they are trying to defend at the time.

Apparently, according to one highly respected financier the borrowing and spending by the last government was an insignificant amount compared to the money lost by banks and the like leading up to the 2008 crash, in fact if Labour had spent only what they brought in and borrowed nothing, we would still be in the $hit as much as we are now.

So then you'll have read I didn't say it was the governments fault like you accused me of.

I hate it when people ask that question. I don't have a degree in economics, I've never run a country before so it may come as a surprise to you to learn that I don't know technically what they should or shouldn't be doing. What I do know is that they are concentrating on London and the South East without having a clue whats going on up here. I would have thought the first thing would be to find out what is making the companies like Seven Seas move away from the area. Why are Kimberley Clark pulling out of Europe. It doesn't take a rocket scientist (or a towel folder) to be asking these simple questions.

Kimberley Clark are pulling out of Europe because HUGGIES aren't selling, can you not read?

Seven Seas are pulling out of Hull because the workforce are stale and inflexible, again, can you not read?

Why are Siemenes reconsidering locating in Hull, would it be a poorly educated and inflexible worforce and a backward looking Council, maybe?

Why am I bitter?? I've got what I want from this government thank you. I have my ESA but more importantly an admission that I am genuinly ill and need support, which is why I have been placed in the support group and not thrown off and told to look for work.

I'll say it again, I have not blamed this government for these firms closing, as someone has rightly pointed out, bad management and low customer sales in Comets case are to blame. What I am saying is I am waiting to see what support the government offers to the workers and firms.

I didn't suggest that the workforce should make the decisions. Perhaps it's naive, but that what I'd expect management to do – manage. That, we are often told, is why management get paid so much more.

I'll shout it from the rooftops because its been a long, hard battle with this government that I sincerely hope never happens to you or yours one day. You may be in the dole queue yourself one day, or have a serious accident on the ski slopes which paralyses you. Would love to see your posts on here then.

Those bloody workers refuse to match the $20 per month that will be paid in the Philippines or Cambodia. Lazy b'stards.

That's what's wrong with this country. People are too quick to criticise, but won't even attempt to fix the problem in favour of just having a whinge.

I remember that. Their first store in Wigan was just a warehouse. I bought my first proper Hi Fi from them as well. Garrard 85 turnable, Goodmans receiver and Leak 2030 speakers. Far better sounding than the Japanese tat you subjected yourself to



They used to sell "proper" Hi Fi stuff like that and did it cheaper then anyone else.

OK, but why aren't management allowed to make mistakes? As I said, no one has the benefit of a crystal ball.

And yes, it's to a degree unfair that the workforce have to pay for those mistakes (or an economic downturn, or whatever) with their jobs, but what alternative is there when there is no money to pay for those workers?

It's a simple enough question, and if someone can come up with an answer, then I am all ears.

Oh, but we can all be assured that you do, given that that's the sector you work in.

No I don't. I don't run the country, nor am I an economist so why would I know how to fix it. I just know the government should be taking more of an interest than they are now.
