The Tory government charged a 3rd party company with slashing the benefits bill and driven by hefty bonuses, they were happy to leave those on disability payments with nothing.

Once again you either misread or deliberately ignore my posting. Regarding the Iraq Christianity, I merely stated the fact that after the Iraq war the Christians that we’re allowed to live in relative peace were persecuted and a large section killed. I passed no comment on as to Christianity bringing peace or anything else to the Middle East .
I find the Middle East a fascinating and interesting area of the world, sadly I have only managed to visit 3 Middle East countries. I was undertaking the long and arduous process of obtaining a solo visa for Iran when the coronavirus halted that. The plan was to cross into Iran from Turkey and travel by public transport across Iran.
My wife has accompanied me on two trips, understandably she is reluctant to go with me to Iran. She did however venture forth with me travelling around Israel by public transportation.Very enjoyable and enlightening. The buses are pretty cheap and comfortable, with the added excitement of The odd army armed checkpoints.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a well worded, direct question on the matter. I've heard all my life that multiculturalism is 'eroding my way of life', but I'm at a loss as to what it's supposed to be erroding. I can still do all the same things and go to all of the places I used to go as a kid. I've lived/studied/worked in towns, cities, and a semi-rural village, and I've never seen immigrants campaigning for pubs to be shut, blocking public footpaths in the hills, or protesting against the barbarity of rugby league. I've been employed since leaving uni, and never had an immigrant trying to steal my job. I've had plenty of issues with the native Brits, though, and the governments have done some pretty crap things! I also want someone to tell me what part of my life is being eroded by multiculturalism...

Like King St I have never encountered an ethnic blocking my passage to success but neither have I blocked the chance of an ethnic to succeed. They have the same access to state education as the rest of us - the NHS works for them equally as it works for us and even Covid doesn't impact all but those from South Asia any more. This is a two way thing!!

I think there’s maybe a element of ‘multiculturalism’ just being a euphemism. Like the USSR using ‘cosmopolitan’ when purging Jews in the late 40s... in principle, at least.

There is a point to be discussed about inter-community tensions and even violence. However, what would be the terms of that of that discussion? When did the experiment in multiculturism in these islands begin? With the arrival of the Celtic or Roman or Germanic or Norman or Viking cultures? In terms of inter-community violence, would we include the 1190 massacre of the Jews in York? Violence between Protestants and Catholics from Tudor times onwards?

How would we define historical attempts to end the experiment? Such as the Edict of Expulsion in 1290, with Jews banned from England until well-known liberal snowflake Oliver Cromwell permitted their return in 1657. If we wanted and were able to end multiculturism in this country now, what would we have to remove to achieve cultural purity?

How do we define the multicultural experiments of British colonialism and modern countries such as the US and Australia? As cautionary tales of existing cultures being eroded or destroyed or as successful experiments that built strong democratic societies?
