| I would have thought The Smiths were a suitably big British group to be included, if they won't reform then at least Morrissey on his own.
Maybe they will play at the Queens funeral.

| I think it was pitched pretty much right for the nation and the monarchy.
It was a Gary Barlow production I believe and he is a young man not versed in pomp and circumstance, thank goodness.
It looked like the royal family were having a ball.
It was comical that the queen was saved from a large section of the concert, but she is 86 and was probably having a nap in the build-up.
She probably wanted to make an 'entrance' like all 'queens' do, as though she was someone important.
By the way, I did not mention Annie Lennox, Jessie J and Stevie Wonder. They were all fab.
Will.i.am, can he really sing?

No more than Suggs can. He's spent 33 years talking in time to music.
It works for him though.

Oi leave Suggs alone (I still love him). Was Cheryl 'Biffa' Cole bad? I did read that she was.

| I'm not knocking him, I've always been something of a Madness fan, but you point me at a song he actually sings on. I can't think of any off the top of my head and I've pretty much everything from One Step Beyond to The Liberty of Norton Folgate, including The Fink Brothers, Nutty Boys and The Madness material.
But he doesn't sing

| Let's be fair, any credible, globally succesful British band of the last 40 years, wouldn't have been seen dead performing in front of the Royals and a load of middle Englanders, whose idea of 'good' music is Gary Barlow and Elton John.
Yes, we could have had the Stones, Pink Floyd, Morrissey/The Smiths, Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Prodigy, etc, but they would have died in that environment, in front of that audience.
As a Jubilee show, it did what was required.....Bland, middle of the road nonsense feeding the appetite of X Factor loving types.
Yes, it was e, but what more could you expect from a show curated by Barlow?

| The Queen looked bored off her tits through it though, which she wouldn't have been if the Prodigy were there.

I am not quite sure how you can tell when the Queen looks bored.
At 86, her face has dropped that much that her mouth is virtually upside down.

I think any time the name Gary Barlow and music are in the vicinity of each other it's an oxymoron.

Apart from the fact that they could still easily sell out any venue they happened to appear at?
That kind of irrelevant?
