I know that Johnson used to be, until he saw his opportunity for the top job and jumped on the Leave ship but the rest (who didn't support May), seemed more of the hard line "no deal" brigade and yes, some remainers.

| It's such a shame Kier Starmer is trapped in this ludicrous Labour party. I genuinely like the guy. He just needs to replace Corbyn and McDonnell, cleanse Labour of the Momentum Stasi, gets rid of stoopid policies of desperation like menopause regulations & 12 months maternity leave, and finally stop looking like he's about to cry and I might even consider voting for him.
"We will negotiate a better deal with the EU"...despite the EU knowing Labour will toss that 'new' deal into a 2nd referendum. The British people have just watched as the EU only finally moved when Boris repeatedly threatened to leave with or without a deal - yet Labour think they can negotiate a better deal with absolutely ZERO negotiating power. Yes I know things didn't work out that way for BJ - but hindsight is a wonderful debating tool.
Asked why would remainers vote for you over the Lib Dems, "because the idea the LDs will win enough seats is ludicrous and they can vote remain in our referendum."
Asked why would leavers vote for you, "because they can vote against our newly negotiated deal in our referendum."
I also like him because you can read him like a book and he clearly know he's talking utter bollox. Bless.

That is not the same is it - Abbott was comparing the coverage of Austin's comments about Corbyn - I haven't heard Clarke saying Boris is unfit to be PM - maybe I missed that?

You didn't understand the context of the post - Labour will simply offer two versions of remain - if Labour get in who is seriously going to campaign for Leave - we might as well not have a vote?
Their Brexit policy is a complete mess - they might as well say they are a remain party its obvious to everyone it does them no favours to suggest otherwise - its disingenuous. When asked not one senior Labour politician can suggest any eventuality whereby any deal they negotiate would be better than remain.

and can business owners decide to sack them on the spot for refusing to work when needed?, a job is a privilege, not a right.
So Labour want an employer to offer 37.5 hour a week contracts, pension, holiday, maternity, menopause counselling, but the employee can pick and choose when they work?
and people are considering voting for these lunatics.
I thought Lord Such was buried 10 years ago?

This is really interesting as NOBODY is actually saying that we will be better off if we leave. Yes, The European court MAY not be able to over rule our laws but, better off on the outside of the EU you are funny.
Everything that we now hear is thet leaving will be worth taking "a hit" and with the economic gloom gathering over the planet, we are volunteering another recession - interesting take on better off
And the craziest thin of all are the spending pledges on both sides, which in a time of probable recession will only make matters worse.

So why don't Labour simple campaign as a remain party and stop the idea that they are anything else?
The idea that EU membership somehow protects you from a recession is not true and has been proved numerous times to be a false perception.
Labour's spending plans are not credible - £1.2tn maybe a bit over the top but they will not be far off

Just for balance, where is the ecconomy now, compared to when the Tories took office ?
Slashing and burning public services to provide tax cut's for those who are already well off is just morally corrupt.
I'm sure that you will remember Mrs May trying to justify huge cuts in front line policing and that we didn't require as many policemen, and yet now, they are embarking on the largest recruitment drive in history and for Boris to achieve these numbers, especially taking account of natural wastage, there would need to be 500,000 applicants - yeah, we're in great shape

There is no guarantee we will not be in recession if we stay in the EU - like it or not we voted to leave so what do the politicians do - just ignore the vote?
The Tories spending seems reasonable - they have to do something, continued austerity is not a vote winner but their numbers are at least believable - £250bn on a green initiative is quite simply lunacy.

The politicians shouldn't just ignore the vote but, when such stanch Tory remainers such as yourself, acknowledge that we could indeed be heading for a Brexit triggered recession, perhaps there is a stronger case than ever for asking whether, people would like to be worse off but, out of the EU or remain as they are and remain ?
At least we know that Farage and Boris have something in common, they are both compulsive liars.
No public election pact but, Farage has already broken his promise to "contest every seat" - I wonder what he will be doing after the election.
Mmm interesting ??
He has a habit of standing down after every election so, probably a nice cushy job in Boris's back office - no nepotism here though

There is no indication that the public view has changed - I would agree with another vote if it were no deal against remain and everything was out in the open.
All politicians are liars and that includes Corbyn and McDonald. You know as soon as they open their lips they are tells lies. When was the last time you ever heard a politician answer a question directly
Farage is an odious individual - he now realises that standing against the Tories leaves the backdoor open and if it closes behind him it will not open in his lifetime.
