Your interpretation of my post is interesting, not sure how you turn the word choice into blame ?
I am more than aware that a suicide victim feels the depths of despair and sadly feel there is no way out, however it does come down to choice, she could have taken the choice to seek help, sadly she choose not to do that. A lot of people do encounter terrible stress in their lives and often consider suicide however most choose not to take that option and do indeed choose to seek help and support.
Also worth noting my post was aimed at the fact that the pranksters cannot be blamed for the sad loss of the nurse, they may have contributed to her feeling as she did but they did not kill her.

True but one could argue that the fact she had put them through gave the second nurse no cause for concern as she probably thought her colleague had done the checks already.

I'm not sure what the point of this distinction is. As an issue of semantics, some may find it interesting; from a criminal law point of view plainly they did not kill anyone; but as a pointless comment it is up there. On all known facts the nurse took her life as the final act in a short sequence of events in which the prank call was the first, and so the outcome of the prank was, ultimately, her death. The distinction that escapes you is that they are not being blamed for killing her, they are being blamed because she killed herself.

It is odd that you don't see this, but not that relevant, since anyone who watched a clip of the first interview with the two presenters will have no doubt that they feel it very deeply.

As I have said though, and repeat so as to be clear, I mainly blame their bosses, who took the recording and instead of doing the right thing, instead chose to play it to the world.

How do you know it was just this short sequence of events that caused her suicide? How do you know that she didn't have many other issues going on in her life that contributed to her suicide?

I would have thought that she had a lot more issues than a phone call to want to kill herself.

No doubts about that - I don't think anybody commits suicide over just one single incident, but that phone call and the inevitable storm, both privately, behind the scenes and publicly, in the global media, would have been a very hefty shove off the emotional cliff.

I think its fair to say that without the prank call, she would probably still be alive, probably still suffering some private mental turmoil over something we'll never know about, but still waiting for that final straw, which the phone call obviously was.

Don't underestimate the power of shame in some countries, India being one of those high up on the list.

Don't be silly. Mrs Saldanha’s family today demanded answers from the hospital over the circumstances that led to her death, saying an internal inquiry is not enough. Very clearly, this means that it was the incident and sequence of events at the hospital which is the focus of their demand. The only person doing any speculating is YOU, as there is no suggestion of any other issue leading to this tragedy, and you are pointlessly ignoring the obvious.

You say "No-one does". Well, her husband is reportedly "seething" with the presenters and the hospital management, and I venture to suggest that having read her suicide note, he may have a fairly good idea.

From my experience of those whose spouses have died in tragic circumstances, I can only say that I have yet to come across a single one in that category.

My first thoughts on hearing about this incident was "what a stroke of luck for the Hospital Authorities!" Their apparent failure to follow long established protocols regarding access and Media intrusion to members of the Royal Family, could now be conveniently forgotten in the witch hunt fanned by a post Leveson Press, all eager to display their "lessons have been learned credentials"

My second one; what reasonably normal person kills themselves over a work incident, for which their employers consider too minor to even be taken through the Disciplinary Process?

Unlike those amongst us, who mix in rumour and supposition with a healthy dollop of their own inflated opinion and present it as facts, I think there is a lot more to this to come out in the wash.

Can you link to any place where the employers ever described the incident as "minor"? I am aware that they indicated they were supporting rather than disciplining her, although I don't get the feeling that her family has enthusiastically embraced that claim, but would find it odd if by some distance the biggest storm ever to hit that hospital was ever described by them as "minor". And of course the whole point, which you improbably seem to miss, is that it was and is indeed a global storm, which shows no sign of abating, every newspaper, lead on every news across the globe, all because she was fooled and put the call through. If you were the nurse, are you seriously telling me you'd view the furore of which you were at the epicentre as a "minor work incident"?
