They were brilliant. It was kinda rubbish, as I couldn't get right to the front, as it was too full, so was right at the front of the second section. I was right on the barrier for Arcade Fire, which was ace.
I saw Monkeys at their Sheffield show on June 10, but I knew they wouldn't play Mardy Bum/Certain Romance again. They were fantastic in Sheffield, but I don't think I'll go to the Arena tour. £37 is too much unfortunately, plus I've heard the 02 is a crap venue, plus I'm not too big on arenas for gigs.

I'm not really too keen on Metal, like a bit of it. I'm more into the 90s Alternative stuff - like Pumpkins, Weezer, Pavement, Beck, Pearl Jam etc. Which is kind of disappointing, as I grew up in the 90s, so kinda missed out on it first time round. I do like indie as well from the early/mid 2000s, but think it's gone all stale now.

| This evening has, by accident, been mostly about Alexisonfire. Watch Out remains one of my favourite albums ever, particularly when you have songs like Get Fighted and Happiness by the Kilowatt.

There's plenty there that any "metal" fan would enjoy mate, just can't get Pavement though.

Not over here either, I know I'm not the only ska and northern soul fan on here either.
Still listening to up-and-coming Leigh band Jerrimiah Ferrari. Check them out BG
Hoping to have new albums by New Town Kings and The Skints waiting for me when I get home this weekend. Result.

| I had [iGuns of Navarone[/i blasting out at 7am this morning whilst dancing around the ironing board pressing a shirt.
Give it some on that trombone Rico. ![Razz icon_razz.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_razz.gif)

| Good call Mr Zebra sir!
Still blowing that trombone like you wouldn't believe....
I'm now trying to find time to get to the Dirty Broken Tyrannosaurus tour somewhere. Not a big fan of Tyrannosaurus Alan, but Broken Nose and (especially) Dirty Revolution definately get my vote.
Hoping to get to The Maze in Nottingham for it as they have Anti-Vigilante on the line up too, should be a cracking night out!

Thankyou Mr Scooter sir!
I was in a fairly exuberant mood so followed it up with -:
[iLongshot Kick de Bucket[/i and [iSkinhead Moonstomp.[/i
Had to calm down a bit after that so went for a random Costello mix -:
[iSattelite.[/i
[iAny Kings Shilling.[/i
[iMan Out of Time.[/i
[iShipbuilding.[/i
[iThe Only Flame in Town.[/i (Great sax action - Clarence Clemons would have been proud).
[iAlison.[/i

I always find 'Pump It Up' to be quite an uplifting song. Revisited it earlier this week on the jukebox of my 'local'.

Definitely got a decent back catalogue mate.
I preferred him at his most political in the 80's, around about [iSpike.[/i

I did! ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif) I'm a huge KOL fan but was slightly disappointed with the concert. I didn't manage to get in a great position as I was with the rest of my family, and there were far too many people who were there to see only 2 of their songs, which is fine, but it kind of spoilt the atmosphere. The sound isn't as good at outdoor venues like that either, compared to when I saw them in Sheffield in December where it was second to none.

Yeah that's true, particularly Pearl Jam and the Pumpkins. Obviously Weezer have metal influences as well, particularly audible in their earlier stuff. I guess when I think of metal, I usually think Maiden, Slayer, Metallica etc.
Pavement are genius ![Cool icon_cool.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_cool.gif) . I love that whole Gen-X slacker movement of the 90s. I just wish I was 10/12 years older, in order to have lived through it.

I've been hearing good things about it. Has Mr Vernon done it again?
It'll have to be good to match their first one as well as to get me to take My Morning Jacket's circuital out of my CD player.

Do you ever listen to the same song twice? Every third post on the music threads is you finding another forgotten album or song. Is your music collection on CD? You must have a storage facility the size of Area 51 to keep them all in?
