They were brilliant. It was kinda rubbish, as I couldn't get right to the front, as it was too full, so was right at the front of the second section. I was right on the barrier for Arcade Fire, which was ace.
I saw Monkeys at their Sheffield show on June 10, but I knew they wouldn't play Mardy Bum/Certain Romance again. They were fantastic in Sheffield, but I don't think I'll go to the Arena tour. £37 is too much unfortunately, plus I've heard the 02 is a crap venue, plus I'm not too big on arenas for gigs.

I'm not really too keen on Metal, like a bit of it. I'm more into the 90s Alternative stuff - like Pumpkins, Weezer, Pavement, Beck, Pearl Jam etc. Which is kind of disappointing, as I grew up in the 90s, so kinda missed out on it first time round. I do like indie as well from the early/mid 2000s, but think it's gone all stale now.

This evening has, by accident, been mostly about Alexisonfire. Watch Out remains one of my favourite albums ever, particularly when you have songs like Get Fighted and Happiness by the Kilowatt.

Is it wrong that I like the new Gaga song, the one with the camp drums and saxophone solo?

There's plenty there that any "metal" fan would enjoy mate, just can't get Pavement though.

Not over here either, I know I'm not the only ska and northern soul fan on here either.

I'm now trying to find time to get to the Dirty Broken Tyrannosaurus tour somewhere. Not a big fan of Tyrannosaurus Alan, but Broken Nose and (especially) Dirty Revolution definately get my vote.

Hoping to get to The Maze in Nottingham for it as they have Anti-Vigilante on the line up too, should be a cracking night out!

Did anyone go to the KOL concert at Lancashire Cricket Ground last sunday?

I did!

I'm a huge KOL fan but was slightly disappointed with the concert. I didn't manage to get in a great position as I was with the rest of my family, and there were far too many people who were there to see only 2 of their songs, which is fine, but it kind of spoilt the atmosphere. The sound isn't as good at outdoor venues like that either, compared to when I saw them in Sheffield in December where it was second to none.

Yeah that's true, particularly Pearl Jam and the Pumpkins. Obviously Weezer have metal influences as well, particularly audible in their earlier stuff. I guess when I think of metal, I usually think Maiden, Slayer, Metallica etc.

Pavement are genius

. I love that whole Gen-X slacker movement of the 90s. I just wish I was 10/12 years older, in order to have lived through it.

Yeah, I really hate that about KOL gigs. That and them not playing enough older stuff!

Yeah they still seem to be playing off the back of Only by the Night unfortunately, my least favourite album of theirs

It'll have to be good to match their first one as well as to get me to take My Morning Jacket's circuital out of my CD player.

Also, listened to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds "the Good Son" last night. A truly fantastic album, spelled with The Ship Song. Wow is that song a bit good.
