His analysis is a only snapshot in a video, the plane is describing a curved trajectory in level flight and the discrepancy he THINKS he has identified is continually taken up and in essence does not practically exist.

However, you can take it as read that we all understand what perspective is and what it does.

What you need to do is explain in basic simple terms how this hitherto unknown-to-man aspect of "perspective" can invert the apparent image of the same object viewed by two different people stood on the alleged same plane.

You can't. The best you can come up with is links to yet more interminable videos of people using software apparently manipulated and altered until it shows what they want it to show!

Is the position that you simply don't know why it does that? Or that you believe there must be a reason but it is too complicated for you to explain the basics of in simple terms? Or what?

I mean, technically speaking I suppose you could say that the earth is flat observed from higher dimensions where things get all weird.

But you don't need to be strapped into the Apollo command module to see the earth's curvature. It's noticeable looking out the window at 40,000ft. I've seen it many times on long distance flights to and from South Africa.

Vis a vis photographs - it's impossible to arrive at any worthwhile conclusions on the straightness or curvature of this or that object without knowing quite a few details about the lens, diameter, focal length, sensor etc etc. And even then - photographs are easy to fake. I could straighten the earth's curvature in photoshop in sixty seconds. I could invert it completely in the same amount of time.

On the question of NASA - whatever civilian oversight in might have possessed (if any) certainly ended with the Challenger disaster when the entire organisation became an adjunct to the military and Reagan's Star Wars program. Whilst I don't doubt that it is largely staffed by honest and conscientious staff today - all of them know who signs their pay-cheques and can be relied upon to toe the line.

Does this mean I think they are all engaged in a ruse to disguise the fact that we are living on Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" - no.

- does it spin?
- are all places on one surface or are some on the "bottom"?
- what shape is it when viewed from "above"?

I started watching a vid on YT last night called something like '200 the reasons the Earth is flat'.

I managed to watch until 11/12ish. I can't believe some people out there devote so much time and energy on it. Any scientific reasoning to counter their 'evidence' is rebuked by saying it's a conspiracy. Brilliant.
