Sounds like he has some serious mental problems, at the very least a severe anger management issue, his is the sort of "Big man now ignored but retaining aggression" personality that can easily turn into another Raoul Moat - I hope Paul Gascoigne hasn't put the fishing rods away just yet.

The RFL do more than you think behind the scenes. Voices had a meeting the other week with Rev Tony Cotson who came to talk to us about his new role, can't for the life of me think of the official title but its something along the lines of player welfare officer that sort of thing.
We were all quite surprised at what support the RFL do give to the players on various matters from addiction, to education, to financial advice to religion.
We all agreed the RFL should be shouting its supporting role from the rooftops, might not make them look all bad then.

I think McLaren has got it spot on, it looks like the "Big man thats now ignored" issue. Sadly our sport has a habit of welcoming and encouraging aggression within big, aggressive (& often uneducated) men. And then obviously there is no place for that aggression when they stop playing.
Go round a pub near an RL club and you'll probably find a few.

Saw a bit of the House of Commons Mental Health debate from a week ago replayed on the Parliament Channel yesterday. The MP for Bracknell spoke of an incident in his constituency where a guy was subdued and taken to a mental hospital by six PCs, all wearing anti-stab jackets, who then handed him over to the care of one female psychiatrist wearing, as the MP put it, a blouse.
