Yes, picking a corner next to the memorial was a stupid and highly disrespectful, but hardly the worst offence in the last week. I'd give that to the chap with the knife who slashed at a man's throat. Or the lad who attempted to commit arson at the Cenotaph? Or the pack of ferals who set upon an isolated man. Or the huge chap who king-hit someone and knocked him out cold.
Ah...but their skin colour doesn't fit your narrative so some idiot full of lager taking a leak in a corner next to a memorial gets the airtime.
Similarly, the media narrative has been interesting. We've seen 2 sets of thugs over the last week. One lot have run riot across the country all week damaging public property, attacked and injured large numbers of police in London with impunity and caused large-scale scenes of violence including random attacks on whites. The other lot (far fewer in number) exchanged blows with a police in riot armour, displayed some truly vile behaviour, and one had a p*ss against a wall. We've seen no reporting at all of the veterans marches or of 'normal' people yesterday, which included plenty of black faces.
So, guess which group are labelled 'racist thugs', while others are 'largely peaceful'. It's THIS sort of narrative that divides. I fully support the end of racism. The racism of the far right is disgusting. But I will not support Black Lives Matter.
On that note, WTF are police commanders doing? They send pitiful numbers out against BLM in...erm, cloth caps, obviously outnumbered and overwhelmed in no time. They then sent out fully-equipped riot police yesterday with barricades in place. Are we seeing fear of the accusation of racism raising its ugly head again? Because that went well last time.
And tell me, what exactly do BLM want? We have extremely robust anti-racism laws in this country and for the vast majority race simply is not an issue. We have quotas in the workplace. Yes, there are issues around education and poverty - but is that racist? Really? Police deaths? Give me a break.
The BLM UK donation site states their aims are to [i"dismantle imperialism, capitalism, white-supremacy, patriarchy and the state structures that disproportionately harm black people in Britain and around the world"[/i. I've heard BLM members talk of dismantling the police, killing all whites, etc, etc. And country is bowing down to this. The Premier League is about to promote this. Feck me, has coronavirus resulted in some collective lunacy?
BLM ignore a lot of facts. The fact blacks kill other blacks in massively higher numbers than whites - including police - do. Even the numbers around police killings in the US don't support them - for example, if you're arrested and resist you're more likely to be killed if you're white. Ignored. They ignore the higher crime rates among the black community that obviously lead to proportionately higher interaction with the police and prison populations. But this is all down to racism, apparently.
If you're taking a knee for this lot you might just be committing yourself to a cause you night not actually want to support.
