| Last week while I was in the Bradford Royal Infirmary for a few days being treated for a road accident I had suffered, I began to compare my situation with that of thousands of people lying in beds in hospitals or what remained of hospitals in Gaza.
On returning home and now with plenty time on my hands, I decided to find out a lot more about the history of the conflict between Palestine and Israel.
The most useful thing I have seen so far is on You Tube. It is a talk given by Miko Peled who was born in Jerusalem in 1961 and was the son of a former Israeli Army General. The hour long talk is called "an honest Jew tells the real truth about Israel" and is well worth watching for exposing myths and lies about the history of that part of the world, about what he learned from his father's involvement in the post war period and movingly when he talks about a close relative who had been killed by a suicide bomber and his family's reaction.
Details of a book he has written called "The General's Son" and other useful web sites are also included.
