Not conclusive proof of anything, but plenty of food for thought, and ammunition for those who accuse authorities of aiming speed cameras at revenue gathering as opposed to casualty reduction.
It would be interesting to have sight of the income derived from some of the cameras that have been in locations for several years now - as a "for example" I'd quote the four or five cameras that line each side of Otley Road from West park down to the New Inn - EVERYBODY knows they are there now, they've been there for at least eight years (guess) and initially, yes I got done by one and lots of people did because you just forgot that they were there.
But now, if you get flashed by one of these cameras you'd deserve it just for being an idiot, you brake now out of instinct when approaching the cameras, just like instinctively changing gears without having to think about it, I can't imagine that they've caught any locals at all for years and the income from them must hardly cover the film developing cost from Boots.
