Hotel delle Rose was were we stayed, basic but cheap in comparison, a little out of the main areas, but we preferred that. The owner was really nice and gave us lots of suggestions for our stay.
Stop in Riva del Garda or just outside.

Limone, Torbole and Malcesine at the top end are close.
All worth a visit.
