Down to the Bare Bones

If anyone had suggested to me that by round eleven of Superleague XIII that Bluey would have been naming players with squad numbers from 21 to 26 in his nineteen, I'd have suggested that they got their bumps felt!

But that has been the necessary step ahead of friday nights game against the Wolves as Ali Lauiti'iti and Simon Worrall join the ever increasing ranks of Rhinos injured.

Now we're down to the bare bones.

Read more here...

Nine of the nineteen man squad named ahead of the game on friday have squad numbers above thirteen, and five of them are numbered in the twenties. The average age of the squad is twenty-three and a half, which must be unprecedented in recent Rhinos history.

The Rhinos are without; Toopi (Shoulder), McGuire (Quad), Jones-Buchanan, Lauiti'iti (Knee), Kirke, and Gibson. These are all key players a in the case of McGuire, JJB and Lauiti'iti are game breakers. It's now down to the youngsters to continue to shine and put last weekends disorganisaed display against a determined Wigan Warriors behind them.

The squad in full is; Brent Webb, Scott Donald, Keith Senior, Lee Smith, Rob Burrow, Kylie Leuluai, Matt Diskin, Jamie Peacock, Gareth Ellis, Kevin Sinfield, Ryan Bailey, Nick Scruton, Carl Ablett, Jordon Tansey, Ryan Hall, Danny Williams, Luke Burgess, Danny Allan and Ben Kaye. One thing is for sure, we can't afford any more injuries and remain competitive.

Paul Cullen has his own worries, having had Ben Westwood banned from his side for friday. He hames a nineteen of; Reardon, Hicks, M. Gleeson, King, Penny, Briers, Monaghan, Morley, Clarke, Rauhihi, L. Anderson, V. Anderson, M. Gleeson, Parker, Johnson, Riley, Bracek, Harrison, and Mitchell.

With Warrington in third it should be a cracker.

The Reserve Grade are also in action when they entertain Warrington Wolves with a 5.45pm kick off. They are also suffering with the call ups to the first team but will be looking to extend their 100% start to the season.
