Young Rob's Done It Again
Posted by southstander on September 27 2007 - 13:14:26

He's only gone and done it again.

For the second season running you have crowned Rob Burrow as your Player of the Season after another sensational season for the diminutive scrum half. This is the first time in the awards seven hear history that the same player has won it - making Rob a true Rhinos great.

Your votes have counted every week, read more here...

The top three were identical to last year with Burrow leading the pack, followed by Ellis and then Sinfield. This season, however, the winning margin was much smaller than last with just three points in it after the last game.

Rob was chosen as your man-of-the-match on five occasions (Catalans (A), Harlequins (H), Wigan (H), Saints (H & A)), second on four occasions (Bradford (Cardiff), Hull FC (A), Wakefield (H), Wigan (A)), and third four times (Wakefield (A), Warrington (A), Hull KR (A), Bradford (H)). In all he figured in your voting on nineteen occasions out of the twenty-seven regular rounds, not bad to say that he was our for a few week with injury duing mid-season.

Out of your voting, four out of your top eight (including the top two) were named in the Superleague Dream Team for the season. You are a canny bunch of voters who can recognise talent.

We'll arrange an evening to present Rob with his award at some point before the start of next season - watch this space.
