David Bywaters Player Appraisal - Millennium Magic
Posted by southstander on May 09 2007 - 07:01:13

Davids MoM
by David Bywater

After a couple of season off, we've once again asked Davidbyw to cast his eye over the Rhinos performances of the weekend and pass numerical judgement on the players.

Bound to be controversial, and to spark debate on the message boards, we'll keep tabs over the season and see if Davids appraisal of player of the season tallies with your Man-of-the-match votes.

Read more here....

Here are Davids thoughts about Sundays game at the Millenium;

No.NameScoreAnalysis
1Webb8Hero to villan to hero again - superb support play for his tries - however his constant niggling of Ganson could have cost the game.
2Donald9What an assist for JJB's try, the pass of the season so far. Also pin-point passing for Webb's second try. As good a game as Scott has had in a Leeds jersey .
3Toopi8 Played with a great deal of maturity - a stunning round the man pass to Donald in the lead up to Webb's second try.
4Senior8Massive defensive effort, Keith really put himself about - his try was a fitting return for Keith's work on the night.
5Smith8Unlucky in the build up to the disallowed McGuire try - that apart solid rather than spectacular.
6McGuire8Showed his class in the build up to the first Webb try and contributed much in the build up of the Leeds attack.
7Burrow9Awesome performance - lit the stadium up with quick fire style - superb try to round off a great game.
8Leuleui8Ran strongly ball in hand and looked a lot more solid in defence - his best game this season.
9Sinfield9Superb - maybe 9 is the best way of using Kevin in Sinny/Burrow/McGuire three - his contribution had a massive influence on the result.
10Thackray8Worked so hard - never shirked for one minute - Jamie has been a massive plus to Leeds this season.
11Jones-Buchanan9For effort, endeveavor, commitment and all round play my MOM. His work rate was unbelievable - if there is a faster second row forward in SL I have yet to see him - superb.
18Kirke8He really put himself about - he rose to the challenge magnificently - hopefully Ian will kick on from here.
12Ellis9Mr consistent does it again - if Gareth fails to win the MOS then there should be an investigation.
22Ablett8Little opportunity in attack but put a big stint in defence - hopefully this will see Carl get a run in the side.
14Lauitiiti0Given his game time it would not be fair to score Ali - his injury looked serious - hopefully he can get fit soon.
25Hall7Given he was making his debut in difficult circumstances Ryan coped admirably - doing what was asked of him in a competent manner - the mark is a reflection of game time.
23Tansey7Incredible effort to score the winning try. As with Hall the mark reflects the lack of game time
