Prop Forwards Union - Emergency Meeting 6th March 2005
Posted by southstander on March 08 2005 - 16:04:13

Oh, Dear!
by John D

We have just received a communique from our mole at PFU Towers as regards an emergency meeting of the union following the Leeds v Huddersfield game.

Here's our mans report.

Minutes of the Emergency Meeting of the PFU, held on March 6th 2005

A hastily convened sitting of the PFU judiciary took place with only one topic on the agenda - Jim Gannon. The PFU observer in the bumper Galpharm crowd spotted Mr Gannon lay boot to ball in a deliberate fashion and possibly with malice intended.

Mr Gannon was unable to attend, but has requested a personal hearing at a later date, however in his absence the panel could only recommend an immediate and lengthy suspension. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable and an experienced old pro such as Mr Gannon needs to realise that he is a role model for the younger generation of prop forward. This also leaves Huddersfield in a pickle as Mr Gannon is the shop steward down at the Galpharm, so they need to appoint a replacement quickly.

The suspension is immediate and shall not last any shorter than to the end of the season. Rehab has also been offered as a method of keeping the ban to a minimum. Mr Gannon will be offered intense therapy and workshops on using the feet in a more becoming manner.

All other business has been held over until next month when a more appropriate amount of time can be given to dissect the details.
