The Rhinos were hit by injury problems to Lee Smith, Ashley Gibson and Luke
Stenchion before last weekends game and of the three only Stenchion is in
contention to make a comeback into the side this weekend. Chaz I'Anson is
also drafted into the squad as the Rhinos look for the win which should seal
their place in the Championship section for the forthcoming season. John
Gallagher, helped off with a knee injury at Wilderspool on the weekend, has
recovered and he should take his place int he starting line up and dependent
on First Grade call ups, Liam Botham may drop back in order to obtain some
I expect the Rhinos squad to be, Gordon, Williams, Brown, Gardner, Buttery,
I'Anson C, Murrell, Gallagher, Stenchion, I'Anson J, Tootill, Scruton,
Golden, Botham, Walsh, Ablett, Tansey, Hart, Burgess, Ratu.
Halifax have only played one game this season, a resounding 50-10 victory at
local rivals Keighley Cougars before last weeks game against St Helens fell
victim to the adverse weather conditions. Since that game Jodie Sheriffe and
Scott Law have been given their chance in First Grade and an injury crisis
at the Shay may have an impact on the team they can pick.
The 'Fax squad for the Keighley game was Attwood, Barker, Boothroyd, Corcoran,
Dobbs. Fawcett, Garnett, Greenwood. Hirst, Law, O'Brien, Sawyer, St Hilaire,
Sheriffe, Simeunovich, Silcox, Walker.
Last season the Rhinos completed the double over Halifax, Lee Smith grabbing
the try of the season in a 30-16 victory at Headingley after a four try
salvo from Tommy Gallagher helped the Rhinos to a 44-22 victory at the Shay.
This game as mentioned, is to be played at Stanningley ARLFC. Admission if
