Old Favourite at the Double Header
Posted by southstander on October 20 2006 - 20:27:39

Old Favourite

Today saw the press launch ahead of Sundays Headingley Double Header and an old Rhinos favourite was in town.

With entry prices at just 10 the afternoons entertainment starts with Tonga v. Samoa at 3:45 and concludes with England v. France at 5:45. A rare post-season treat and antidote to the early onset of 'out-of-season-itis'. The cameras of were there and sent us these pictures.

Sunday is the opening fixture of the Federation Shield which sees England, France, Tonga and Samoa do battle over five weeks leading up to the final at Widnes on the 12th November. Martin Masella, who played for Leeds over several seasons in the mid to late 1990's, including the first ever Grand Final, is coach of the Tongan side which he captained in his playing days.

Paul Cullen is at the helm of the England side which is heavily reliant upon Rhinos first teamers. Included in the side are; Bailey, Diskin, Gibson, Jones-Buchanan, Smith, Williams and Scruton. The English side should be far too strong for the French.

So if you haven't already got your ticket, why not get down to Headingley on sunday and take in a real feast of Rugby?
