Rhinos Year in Review - March
Posted by southstander on December 20 2005 - 07:27:41

Hat-trick v. Wire
As the new season starts to raise its head on the horizon, and the lads get back into training ahead of the festive challenge, we take a backwards look at the season that was 2005.

We'll cover both the highlights, the lowlights as we wrap up 12 months of following the Leeds Rhinos.

In our review of the year, we move into March.

Under 21's lose 19-16 to Halifax in a game played at Stanningley ARLFC.....Rhinos take over 6,500 fans to the Galpharm to witness 54-10 victory over the Huddersfield Giants......

First event for Barrie McDermott's testimonial sees the man himself win the Question of Sport.....Under 21's lose 37-18 at Wakefield and in the process do not qualify for the top division in the Senior Academy competition.....

Rhinos cruise past Warrington with a 38-6 win at Headingley. Keith Senior with a hat-trick of tries.....and then draw the Wolves at home in the Fourth Round of the Powergen Challenge Cup.....

Rhinos win 30-12 at Salford City Reds in a game described by as a "drop-a-thon". Barrie McDermott's "40-yarder" the highlight of the night for the travelling fans......Jealous fans of other clubs label Rhinos fans "arrogant".....

Rhinos cruise home with biggest victory at Odsal in Super League with a 42-12 win. Rob Burrow with two tries and a new phenomenon, the "Bradford Walk" as Bulls fans stream out of Odsal well before the final whistle......but the wheels come crashing off the Rhinos bus 4 days later as Wakefield end the Rhinos 100% start to the season with a deserved 44-28 victory at Headingley on Easter Monday.
