Rhinos Year in Review - February

Bring it On!
As the new season starts to raise its head on the horizon, and the lads get back into training ahead of the festive challenge, we take a backwards look at the season that was 2005.

We'll cover both the highlights, the lowlights as we wrap up 12 months of following the Leeds Rhinos.

In our review of the year, we move into February.


At the Carnegie World Club Challenge press call, Kevin Sinfield sports the new Gold Rhinos Away top for 2005....the Rhinos make three changes from the Grand Final winning team Andrew Dunemann, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Gareth Ellis come into the starting line up.....

Rhinos crowned Carnegie World Club Champions after a late Kevin Sinfield field goal clinches a 39-32 victory after a superb fightback from the Canterbury Bulldogs.....Sonny Bill Williams knocks Marcus Bai into "the middle of next week" with a monster hit as the game finishes with a bit of biffo....engage Mutual Assurance named as title sponsors of Super League taking over from Tetleys..... actually praises Gary Hetherington for bringing home the bacon.....Luke Davico released by Wigan without playing a competetive game for the club......Rhinos begin defence of title with 16-12 win at KC Stadium on a filthy night in Humberside. Walker, Senior and Bai with the tries......Danny McGuire receives the 2004 Player of the Year trophy in the Rugby Club and then signs a new deal with the Rhinos to keep him at the club until the end of 2009......

Under 18's beat French touring side 24-22 at Morley RFC.....Under 21's open with 66-4 win over Salford followed by the First Grade beating St Helens 30-18 at a sold out Headingley.....Danny McGuire ruled out for six to eight weeks with groin injury.....

Under 21's lose 24-20 at Warrington.....Rhinos blow Widnes away 66-8 with a superb second half performance, Mark Calderwood picking up 4 tries.....
