Wembley 2006
By El Barbudo

Want to be part of the historic crowd at the first Challenge Cup Final at the new Wembley?

Where here is your chance, for a few days only, to make sure that you are one of the SouthStander.com 'massive' that will form our own little Rhinos enclave, regardless of whether we are there, or not.

The offer is open for everyone to come and join us, and if you want to be a part of it, then read the following very carefully, and then re-read it!

There are no official seating plans for Wembley in the public domain at present but I have been to Red Hall to look at the one they have there. I have drawn this rough and very approximate plan, purely for our discussion purposes. It is not official and is not meant as a guide for anything else.

Basically, what I have shown is the cheaper parts of lower tier areas, along the touch-lines only. The upper tiers (not shown here) being either more expensive or so far up and back you’d need binoculars and supplementary oxygen.

I have deliberately not chosen either end because they will be allocated to the clubs in the final and most people (AP excepted) wouldn’t want to be in the “wrong” end if Leeds make it to the final. The area I have coloured purple is the Royal box area (too expensive). No-one seems to know just yet where the team tunnels/dugouts will be.

So, the idea is that, if we can get enough people, we will effectively have our own “end” albeit near the middle...if you see what I mean.

So, the seats I’m targeting are the ones I’ve coloured in red. i.e. as near to the centre line as I can get them but not in the very front blocks as they would tend to be rather low. I’m guessing that moving back just by that bit will give us a better view.

They are £30 each but the discounting means that, for every five we buy, we’ll only pay for four. The actual amount of discount we’ll get will depend upon how close we get to whole groups of five people, so payment will initially have to be for the full £30, then you’ll get a refund of your share of the discount when we’ve bought the tickets.

The maximum refund will be £6 per ticket. If we got, say, 10 people, then the refund would be £6.00 per ticket, only 9 people then the refund would be £4.33 per ticket. If we got fewer than four people, we’d get no discount at all.

So, that’s enough examples...

If you want to be part of the Southstander.Com 'massive' at the first Challenge Cup Final at the new Wembley on Saturday the 26th August 2006, get your cheques sent off now.

Go on...what better Christmas present could you buy for your better-half/Son/Daughter/Dad/Mum?

Please send your cheques (payable to 'Paul Coward') for the full £30 per ticket to;

Paul Coward
c/o Technology House
Lissadel Street
Salford
Greater Manchester
M6 6AP

IMPORTANT: Please also include a stamped self-addressed envelope so that we can send your tickets to you (or return your money if you miss the deadline). We will also include your refund cheque for any saving per ticket (all of which will be passed on to everyone who buys a ticket).

So that we can buy all the tickets in one go (to ensure our seats are all together) there has to be a time limit on applications (the discounts are limited to a percentage of all tickets sold)...all applications in by 15 Nov 2005 please.

Progress will be posted on the messageboard regularly.

P.S. Travel and accommodation are your own responsibility...unless someone out there wants to arrange something?
