rhinoms Superleague XX Previews - Round 4
Posted by southstander on March 04 2015 - 18:42:53

It's another exciting weekend of Super League action which kicks off with the Rhinos visit to the KC Stadium to take on Hull FC.

Elsewhere the Warriors travel to take on the Tigers, the Saints are off to the Wildcats and the Devils are going to Perpignan.

We take a look ahead to the weekends action here.....

This week we enter round four of the SL and already we have seen shock results and only two teams remain unbeaten.

Here are this weeks previews.

FC v. RHINOS

The unbeaten Blue ‘n’ Amber head East this week and face another potential banana skin when they visit the B&W half of Ull.

The hosts results aside look a much improved side in 2015 and know they can beat the Rhinos on their patch.

History shows this is a tough fixture for the visitors and they will need to improve their goal line defence after nearly throwing away an 18pt lead last week.

The race for the top 4 is massive this year and the hosts need a win asap to avoid the gap growing.

I expect a full bloodied encounter with fireworks up front but I think the Rhinos backs and in particular former FC favourite Briscoe showing some good form the visitors will take the spoils.

TIGERS v. WARRIORS

Both sides go into this on the back of close defeats.

The home side just haven’t got going yet and they are growing more desperate by the week for that first win.

For “Smiler” Wane and his side they will be determined to snap out of losing games before it becomes a rut after last weeks late loss to the Robins.

Last year this was one of the games of the season when the home side snatched a win on the last play of the match & the Pies do hold grudges so they’ll be fired up.

It could be another belting match but the Tigers are a shadow of the team from last year and I just don’t see them being good enough over the 80 minutes this week.

GIANTS v. VIKINGS

The hosts came so close to their first win last week taking the lead with 10 minutes left despite being 18-0 down after 30 minutes against the Rhinos but the hosts had the last laugh with a late winning score.

The visitors ran riot with a 50pt mauling of the previously unbeaten and surprise package Wakey.

Both teams can create and score some good tries but defensively I think the Giants are stronger despite still searching for their first win.

Another game that promises to be entertaining but I think the home side have more aces up their sleeve and will secure their first 2pts of 2015.

WILDCATS v. SAINTS

After a 50pt crash back down to earth last week Wakey welcome the unbeaten League leaders when ST’s come to town.

We know the hosts love upsetting the form book at home and after last week I’m sure they’ll make it a tough night for Cunninghams charges.

The visitors are still rebuilding confidence after their RL lesson by the Bunnies in the WCC but last week they were able to grind out a win.

With Amor and Burns missing it gives the Puddy Cats a fighting chance but I think the visitors are just too good for them.

DRAGONS v. DEVILS

After another home win the Dragons welcome the Dr’s mercenaries this week.

The visitors arrive after a good win and huge plaudits for “Showboat” Chase ringing in their ears but this is a step up in quality so we will see if it was just a one off as has been case more often than not.

The host destroyed Wire last time out and were lead around the park by the Aussie combo of Carney & Dureau.

The Devils are capable of some decent RL and last weeks highlights reel shows what Rangi can do when it goes his way but we also know he nor his team can do it week in week out.

It may be close for an hour but the home side are too strong on their turf at the minute.

WOLVES v. KR

After a spanking in France the Wire face a confident Robins team who arrive after a brilliant late win v the Pies.

With start signings Sims and Clark yet to hit their best form they will hope to bounce back and retain their grip on 4th spot.

The Robins are still a work in process they can play some very good attacking RL with Campese pulling the strings but defensively they are still vulnerable.

Another potentially good match up but with Wire losing last week will it makes this an even tougher fixture and I doubt they are ready to withstand what will be thrown at them.
