rhinoms Superleague XIX Previews - Round 27

The last week before the play-offs and for Rhinos fans it is a bit of a damp squib as we can do nothing other than finish sixth.

All eyes will be on the Tigers trip to the south of France and the Saints visit to the birthplace of the game the following afternoon. If the Tigers get a win, then Saints will need at least a draw to secure the hub-cap.

Elsewhere there could be a few dour games with the Bulls in London and the Rhinos visiting Hull FC. For most teams this is the calm before the play-off storm.

We preview the action here.....

Itís the final week of the regular season and we have a two team shoot out for Top Spot and the Hub-Cap which involves Saints and if we are all honest surprisingly Cas!

Here are this weeks previews.

WARRIORS v. WOLVES

Both sides recorded convincing wins last week against the Rhinos and STís respectfully.

Whilst the visitors recorded a crushing win against the League Leaders the hosts were dominant in a tougher contest.

With the play-offs a week away expect both teams to up the gears again as they look to gather more momentum and confidence going into next week.

This promises to be a belter both sides can score quality trys and have good defences so itís anyones guess as to the outcome.

I think home advantage is key and in this case I think the Pies will just edge it.

GIANTS v. SAINTS

After getting destroyed on their own patch last week with the hub-cap in sight the visitors desperately need to re-group and focus if they are to secure 1st.

The hosts stuttered last week against the B+W also rans but will go into this fixture confident of upsetting the STís.

Stís are still missing some big hitters but there are some suggestions that the hosts may rest 1 or 2 with the play offs in mind.

It should still be a close game but I donít think the STís will mess it up twice in 2 weeks.

FC v. RHINOS

After getting out fought and out played last week the highest the visitors can finish is now 6th with dropped points against the relegated teams proving costly amongst other poor results.

The hosts will be looking to end on a high and send the CC holders into the play-offs on the back of 3 straight losses.

Itís never easy when the visitors head to the B+W side of Cods ville but they should have too much against a very average home side.

A tough hour or so but I think the Rhinos will secure a morale boosting win late on.

DEVILS v. VIKINGS

Both sides go into this one on the back of wins against the relegated sides so current form is hard to gauge but the visitors are in the top 8 whereas the big spenders arenít so make of that what you will.

No doubt Dr Motor-Mouth will demand a win and he was very public in declaring that his team would spoil the visitors play off party this week but given his teams efforts you would think he would have learned by now you donít win RL matches by gobbing off online or in the written press!

The Vikings are in the top 8 on merit and I think they are a better team than their hosts.

DRAGONS v. TIGERS

The home side are in the play-offs and face top spot chasing team of the year Cas.

The Tiggers will know their fate by the time this one koís a win or a draw for STís and they are second which is still a fantastic achievement along with their CC final appearance.

However a loss for STís and itís in the Tiggers Claws but they face a team that are quite formidable on their own paddock!

Both sides play some good attacking RL but I think home advantage will be massive as the hosts look to end their home run on fire.

Expect a feisty match with plenty of fire and brimstone but I think the Dragons edge it.

BRONCOS v. BULLS

As fate would have it the two relegated sides meet in their last SL fixture for at least a year.

The Bulls will win convincingly but this could lay a platform for a renewed rivalry in the Championship next year.

WILDCATS v. KR

Neither team has anything to play for but the hosts donít like losing at home so Iíd still expect them to be fired up.

For the Robins plenty of changes to come in 2015 so finishing with pride will be on their agenda.

Both sides are capable on their day but I think the hosts want it more.
