rhinoms Superleague XIX Previews - Round 1 (Part 1)

The long wait is over and there is just one more sleep before Superleague kicks off a brand new season with a solitary Round 1 (or is it 3) game between the two sides who mopped up all of last seasons trophies.

The Warriors, who have the important ones in their trophy cabinet take on the minor premiers, the Huddersfield Giants, in what should be a humdinger of an opener.

Rhinoms is back to preview the action.

It's back!!

After the jamboree of the World Cup we now back to bread and butter of SL.

Given their double winning year and challenging the Roosters on their own turf down under for the WCC the Pies start the season a week early!

Here is the Preview for this weeks game.

A real battle to open the season when last years league leaders visit the defending Double winners at the pie dome.

Both sides are expected to challenge again in 2014 and both have been actively recruiting during the off season.

The hosts will be looking for a strong start with the Roosters game very much in mind a couple of weeks away whereas the visitors will be hoping for a repeat of last year when the ran out convincing winners at the same venue. Plenty of questions hanging over the hosts with regards to their losses and incomings especially the departures of Tomkins and points machine Richards.

For the visitors it will be a question of kicking on from last year and matching the big teams again with a hope for a final appearance this time around.

I expect a pretty full bloodied battle with quality and rustiness on show as well.

I think the Giants are capable of winning but the upcoming WCC should see the Pies that little bit sharper.
