rhinoms Superleague XVIII Previews - Round 26
Posted by southstander on August 29 2013 - 21:13:39

The Giants are almost secure in top spot, the top eight are decided, and London Broncos need a miracle to avoid the wooden spoon. You'd be forgiven for thinking that it was a waste of a weekend for Superleague.

But with Wakefield looking to upset local rivals Huddersfield in front of the TV cameras, the Dragons trying to get above Saints, and Saints trying to overhaul the Rhinos, it could be quite an interesting few days.

Read more here....

After the SL took a week off for the CC final that can only be described as a damp squib we return for the penultimate round of the regular season.

Here are this weeks previews.

RHINOS v. DRAGONS

The hosts are boosted by the return of four of their injured regulars and will be chomping at the bit to return to winning ways after an abysmal performance last time out at HQ.

The visitors arrive boosted by the return to fitness of an old Blue 'n' Amber favourite "Superman" Brent Webb.

IF the visitors arrive ready to play and perform to their potential its going to be a tough night but this is the last SL home game of the season and i expect the Champs to be too strong.

SAINTS v. WOLVES

The plastic scousers are finding form and if results go their way then 4th spot is still on.

I expect the visitors to start upping their intensity now with the play offs fast approaching so this has the potential to be a quality game.

Despite renewed confidence and winning games I think the visitors will have too much in this one but its going to be a tough 80 minutes.

WARRIORS v. FC

Its a re-match of the CC final but this time the hosts are more of a fringe team with their main stars rested for this one.

The Cods trawl into town after the worse performance in a Challenge Cup final for at the very least the last twenty-five years so expect them to be fired up.

Normally it would be a home banker but the squad changes and last weeks efforts tip this one in the B+W's favour.

BUBLLS v. BRONCOS

Due to the top now set in stone this a dead rubber but a chance for the hosts to put some points on the board and give their tortured fan base a little cheer.

The visitors have nothing to play for and an awful squad to select from nuff said.

TIGERS v. REDS

Another dead rubber in rock ridge as the tiggers face Rangis new club. Powell will want his team to put on a display for the home faithful and will expect a convincing win.

The visitors are just making up the numbers awaiting next years re-build. Cas by 18.

GIANTS v. WILDCATS

The hosts will expect to seal top spot in front of the tv cameras when the puddy cats visit.

However if there's one team who can upset the party irrespective of their own season as good as over it's Aagrs team.

I don't think there will be an upset but I expect it to be competitive and some hard work for McBrough and co.

VIKINGS v. KR

The home side have nothing but pride to play for so will be hopeful of upsetting a play off team.

The robins arrive after grinding out a deserved win at the Champs home last time out and will be looking to build on that for the play offs.

If the home side fancy it they will make a game of it but momentum is with the visitors.
