rhinoms Superleague XVIII Previews - Round 11
Posted by southstander on April 04 2013 - 10:15:21

We jump straight past Friday football this week and into games on Saturday and Sunday.

The most interesting game on Saturday looks to be the Broncos against the Bulls, but SKY have chosen to show the Tigers against the Giants.

TV does appear to have picked a competitive Sunday game as they televise the Rhinos welcoming the Wolves for a repeat of last seasons two major finals.

Enjoy your weekends rugby.

This week we enter Round 11 and as the table takes shape we've already seen some hard close fought games ,big wins and also two or three shocks and now the injuries start to bite most teams.

Here are this weeks previews.

The visitors travel south with plenty of confidence after a good Easter result wise and boosted by the return of their seven.

The Nags however are still losing games and even though they got close against the Dragons they were well hammered on Easter Monday.

I still think this will be closer than some think but the hosts still lack the quality needed to get wins on a regular basis.

The visitors will be tested but in the end a comfortable win should be the outcome.

After a shock loss on Friday the visitors bounced back in style with a 60 point win against Widnes.

The hoe downs are cancelled and the moonshine is well and truly gathering dust as the poor results continue to bite in rock ridge.

After a couple of promising games the wheels have come off for the wagon train and it wont get better anytime soon as the injuries bite as well.

The Giants will be fired up after a surprise loss at Salford so will hit the ground running and take the spoils with relative ease.

The big spenders finally won on Monday after getting spanked in their derby so their coach has earned a stay of execution for now.

The "Angelic" visitors arrive on the back of a loss against the 12 man Champs so will be fired up.

Both teams have quality on the injury list and with the visitors the travel does cause them to be a Jekyl and Hyde team away from home.

However the hosts don't have enough quality across the board IF the Dragons turn up to play and I think they'll be too determined for the hosts.

Plenty of boos and glum faces in the directors box for the Cod-eads as the Dragons take the points.

The hosts get the award for the most pathetic effort on Bank holiday Monday after shipping in 80+ against the Pies.

the visitors bounced back after their derby defeat and will be looking to kick on and get more consistency in their performances especially as the injuries continue to bite.

The local fan base will demand an effort that reflects their good Friday win rather than the shambles they witnessed last time out.

There is growing unrest with rumours about the Robins Chairman considering his future and there must be pressure on the Coach as well.

I think the hosts will improve but nowhere near enough to get the win as the ST's begin to march into form.

The game of the round with both teams missing big players it should still be a quality match at HQ.

The visitors bounced back from a shocking defeat against the Vikings to hammer the Nags so they are scoring plenty but have been surprisingly loose defensively.

The Champs have been the opposite in that they've bombed tries for fun but showed some great steel and much improved defence but saying that discipline is a problem.

There's more than enough quality on show to prevent a long winded pre-match moan about who's missing by the Sky team and I think the players on the pitch will put on a good show.

A tough game to call that can go either way but I think the hosts steel in defence gets the win but only just.

The hosts have got some very god wins thus far but have also had one or two hidings so its a bit of a guess which team will turn up.

Its obvious the visitors are still playing catch up but still lack any real quality other than causing the odd shock and the Coaching situation hasn't helped them either.

I actually think both teams will go for it and although it might not be one for the purists I can see plenty of points but the hosts taking the win.

The hosts have been pretty impressive thus far and look to be on a roll and full of confidence which is bad news for the out of sorts visitors.

The Puddy Cats will travel hoping to reverse their losing streak and to be fair they are capable of some big wins when they get it right but that isn't happening at the moment and defensively they just don't look strong enough at the moment.

The ruthless hosts will be tested but nowhere enough to cause them any serious worries.
