Rhinos Semi Down the Pharm
Posted by southstander on June 28 2005 - 17:10:24

Just for once the RFL have got the semi-final decisions spot on.

After the dream draw for Red Hall, one which sees the likelihood of a Rhinos v. Saints final at Cardiff on the 27th August, they have arranged for both games to be played at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium.

It is the common sense decision.

Despite Barrie McDermotts best atempts to get us all a second visit to France within three weeks, the RFL have arranged for both semi-finals to be played at the Galpharm Stadium. I wonder if Barrie considered the financial implications to the Rhinos legion of supporters before making the suggestion?

Saints v. Hull FC will be first up on the saturday, with the Rhinos facing semi-final surprise package Toulouse for a 1:45 kick-off on sunday the 31st July.

This will be a massive relief for many Rhinos supporters who might have been fearing a longer journey than fifteen miles down the M62. Leeds will take 13k+ to the game with Toulouse unlikely to bring more than a handful. It is the French sides biggest chance of a pay day without visiting Headingley.

Saints v. Hull FC should be a belter, with Hull coach Kear reknowned for getting his sides up for cup matches. Holding this game in Huddersfield, almost equidistant betwen the two clubs is the best idea.

Looks like Uncle Maurice has been 'snubbed' again as the JJB misses out on a semi.

Looking forward to it already.
