Whilst in my friends car on my to Wigan last Friday night two words came into my head, 'What If','What If we can beat Wigan? Was my initial thought and what if we can make it Old Trafford yet again?
I'm sat here typing this and again thinking 'What If' regarding the game on Saturday. This game feels very different from the game at Wembley just over a month ago. The Leeds that performs at the business end of the season has turned up and looks hungry and ready to compete to win back a title that we have so long seen been lifted above Sir Kevin Sinfield's head on a cold early Autumnal night.
If we play with the same defence stronghold that we showed against Wigan on Friday night then we can do this yet again but we need to be clinical in our attack and compete on a level we have only shown a handful of time in the past 12 months. Peacock needs to have another stormer like on Friday night and be prepared to battle and Sinfield, well let the real 'Man Of Steel' of Super League show his true power and skill again.
Martin Offiah recently said that Leeds are a “vampire” side, we dont perform in the daylight but we come alive at night in the big finals. He is spot on, to coin an old Leeds Rhinos phrase everyone, 'Believe'.
