rhinoms Superleague XVII Previews - Round 22
Posted by southstander on July 26 2012 - 10:13:33

by rhinoms

Despite getting four out of seven outcomes incorrect in Round 21, SouthStander.com was exact with the winning margins for both the Rhinos and the Wolves.

rhinoms did get four out of seven correct outcomes and also got one winning margin spot on, Wigans win over the Broncos.

Our two pundits are definitely improving as the weeks progress towards the play-offs. Read more here....

This week we enter round 22 and although the table is becoming clearer there are still plenty of places and points on offer.

Here are this weeks previews.

WARRIORS v. TIGERS

A chance for the Pies to rack their points difference this week against the Toothless Tiggers at the Pie dome.

The visitors will take some confidence from a spirited comeback against Wire last week but ultimately it proved too little too late.

The home team will be looking to go up through the gears and get top spot secured ASAP after their CC exit and they'll show no mercy this week.

The visitors may show some spirit (mainly moonshine) and get stuck in but you need more than that at this level.

DRAGONS v. BRONCOS

After getting left on bricks against the plastic scousers last week the home side will be looking to burn the visiting Nags.

For the visitors appointing Rea was the right call about 4 months too late and any positive impact he may have won't be seen this week.

Its gonna be a long weekend for the visitors and the wooden spoon is all but secured.

The Dragons will take out their frustration on the Nags and leave them feeling like Devon Loch.

SAINTS v. GIANTS

After stealing 2 points last week the hosts will be able to stay in second gear against the pretenders from Fartown this week.

Despite also changing their coach too late the slump in form has continued at the Giants and i dont expect any different this week.

For Roby and co this is the chance to get a firmer grip on third and maintain tier charge for the GF.

Baloo will hope his side show the "Bare Necessities" needed to compete but they'll be left "wanting to be like you" as the home side get another win.

FC v. REDS

After another "look at me I own a 2nd rate RL club" rant from their owner and a morale boosting derby win the Cods welcome a side in a rut this time Salford.

After getting destroyed by wooden spoon favourite the Vikings the visitors can only save face because their top eight ambitions are over.

Both sides have players missing either through departure or injury but the home side still have far to much mussle to lose this one.

A determined Salford should make a game of it but the local Whelks will be talking about a top eight challenge again come F/T.

WOLVES v. BULLS

A chance for TS to continue his rotation policy against a spirited but lacking in class Bulls side.

After their 6 point deduction the visitors could be forgiven for packing it in but in all fairness they are a galvanised outfit.

This is a game that the home side will be more than confident in winning and they should have too much class and bite across the park.

Another gritty effort from the visitors but not enough to trouble the hosts.

VIKINGS v. KR

Both teams desperate for the win.

For the home side they will want to get another home win and stay clear of bottom spot whilst the visitors owe their fans a lift after their pathetic surrender during the cod war.

A confident home side will make it awkward for the Red Mullets but I dont think they have enough quality defensively to get the win.

WILDCATS v. RHINOS

It's monday night RL for the puddy cats this week as they welcome the resurgent Champs.

With both teams missing some game breaking quality through injury and suspension it could be a leveller.

The last time these two met it was a 44-40 win for the visitors thankfully both defensives have improved since then but both do have points in them.

It's easy for teams to up their efforts when the Champs are in town and Wakey will be no different but we are starting to get a roll on and I think we have too much guile and skill for the hosts.
