rhinoms Superleague VXII Previews - Round 19
Posted by southstander on June 28 2012 - 06:18:23

by rhinoms

SouthStander.com had a great week last week by correctly predicting the winner of every game, including getting the winning margins for Leeds (against Wakefield) and Warrington (against Hull FC). rhinoms on the other hand got five from seven after getting the Catalans and Bradford outcomes wrong.

There are some one-sided affairs, and some very even looking games to look forward to this weekend.

Read more here....

This week we enter round 19 and the top eight race is still very much on.

Here are this weeks previews.

REDS v. WOLVES

After a 20+ loss last time out the games don't get any easier for the hosts.

This week neighbours Wire are the visitors and arrive after a hard but convincing win v Ull last week.

Although the top is not mathematically out of reach the inconsistent form and tough fixture list points to the Reds missing out.

A repeat of last week is on the cards a strong start by the hosts but ultimately not good enough for the win.

The visitors will have too much and keep the race for top spot alive. Wire by 22.

SAINTS v. KR

A good win last week and the hosts are regaining confidence and momentum. The visitors were unlucky to lose out last week in the monsoon against the Dragons.

Both sides have big packs and decent HB's but the hosts quality out wide will be a real test for the visitors.

I expect a tough encounter and the Robins to go toe to toe up front but out wide is where the ST's will steal the points.

WARRIORS v. BULLS

This week another sacrificial lamb for the table toppers as they face the "Greece" of SL.

To be fair Potter has weaved some big spells to keep his besieged squad going but this is a game too far.

The hosts will be looking to repeat last weeks training run v the Vikings. The uncertainty over the visitors futures will just be as challenging as facing their rampant in form hosts and just like their previous board they'll be painfully found out.

DRAGONS v. WILDCATS

The hosts had to grind out the win last week in Cods-ville but this week they welcome an easier prospect in the form of the inconsistent Wildcats. The visitors really are struggling to be consistent and get back to winning ways and this week away in France it'll be another loss i'm afraid.

The Dragons will take real confidence from last weeks battling win and at home they will look to open up in the sun and put the visitors to the sword.

As always the puddy cats will bite and scratch but won't have enough quality to get the points.

BRONCOS v. RHINOS

Another fixture that gives the disjointed and inconsistent Champs the chance to build confidence and structures.

The hosts really are a poor team but they'll know they can beat us because they've done it here before and last year they battered us pre-Cup Final.

The Blue 'n' Amber really need to play for the full 80 and no matter what the score they need to stay focussed and ruthless when in command.

Hopefully a full 80 minute performance and improvement on last week because in all seriousness the season can't end soon enough for the southern nags.

FC v. GIANTS

It's the battle of the pretenders at the fish bowl.

The visitors were relieved to get back to winning ways last week whilst the B+W were in a battling defeat at Warrington.

Both have eyes on a top 4 spot and this could be a case of who blinks first. I think the hosts have been found out and now they are facing a much tougher run of fixtures they will slide down the table.

It should prove to be an entertaining game and a good battle up front but mono-brow and co should have too much quality and get the win.

Close but no Starfish for Gentle and his Whelks.

VIKINGS v. TIGERS

It's the pub team challenge over in Widnes this week.

The Basil wagon train hits the M62 and he's without Sheriff "El Bow" who is plotting his Xscape!!

Both teams are abysmal so at least it should be end to end because neither can defend and both lack quality all over the park.

Who wins? who cares we know there are better teams in the Championship and SKY choosing to show this game proves how they pine for amateur RL.
