rhinoms Superleague XVII Previews - Round 15
Posted by southstander on May 24 2012 - 09:36:46

by rhinoms

Neither of our pundits fared particularly well last week, although rhinoms just edged out SouthStander.com. Both predicted a Rhinos win, when they crashed to Saints and both could be excused for not spotting the likelihood of a draw at the City of Salford Stadium.

rhinoms did get the Warriors win over the Giants correct, while SouthStander.com had too much faith in the West Yorkshire side.

How will they fare in round fifteen?

This week the Super League heads west en-masse for the carnival that is the Magic weekend.

Here are this weeks previews.

TIGERS v. WILDCATS

A huge game for both clubs if they are to rescue their season. After a both got pasted last time out they should be desperate to put it right in this derby.

For basil he can welcome Chase back into the fold and the Wakey mob hope to have Southern back to add steel to their pack.

This should be an end to end try fest with both teams poor defensively but i think Cas that bit more quality.

A tough game but the banjoes will be twanged at FT and the hoe down will commence.

FC v. KR

It's the trawler derby and the Red Mullets owe their neighbours one after the last time they met.

The B&W keep winning will want that momentum to continue as they surge for the top four.

The Robins put up a very good attacking display last time out as they ran the tiggers ragged and they'll hope Dobson and Green can repeat that.

This will be brutal and a close fought game with no room for no one to clam up but the reds desperation to "get even" should be enough to take the spoils.

WOLVES v. VIKINGS

Although they've improved their attack recently the Vikings are still very poor defensively and that won't change here.

For TS it's a chance for his team to up the gears and get their points difference up.

It may be a contest for an hour but after that expect the Wolves to run riot.

BULLS v. RHINOS

For the first time in a long time we go into this game behind the Dulls in the table.

After a disjointed and at times frustrating effort against ST's the Blue 'n' Amber have to win this to have any top 5 hopes.

Potters wands will be confident after beating their local rivals last time they met and looking to kick on themselves.

Its a huge game and the Rhinos should come out on fire and get the game going at a pace the dulls can't handle.

It should be tough but if our quality plays to it's potential and our coach can count to 17 we should win this with some to spare.

DRAGONS v. BRONCOS

It's the expansion derby but the Dragons are far too good for this rabble from the sarf.

It's ahrd to see where the Broncos next win will come from and even more baffling is how coach Powell keeps his job.

It may be a contest for the 1st half but they Nags don't ahve the quality to compete with the Dragons fire.

GIANTS v. REDS

A perfect chance for the Giants to get their top 4 challenge back on track as they reverted to their previous by losing when seriously tested.

For the Reds they will hope Silverwood doesn't have a say like he did in the draw v the Dulls.

Salford can be a decent tea when they get it right but that's more and more rare as the season progress's so whilst they should compete expect the Giants to get their winning run back on track.

SAINTS v. WARRIORS

We finish the weekend off with a belter as these two bitter rivals meet again.

After their CC defeat the plastic scousers will be chomping at the bit to get revenge and will be confident after a well deserved win at Headingley.

For Rat-boy and co they know they have ST's card marked and they know stop Roby and they win something they do defensively and do it very well.

It will be a real battle but the Pies are the form team overall and like I said they know how to beat ST's and they have the defence to do it.

No whooping from Wilkin and Lomax this week.
