rhinoms Superleague XVII Previews - Round 14
Posted by southstander on May 14 2012 - 08:12:29

by rhinoms

In round 13 rhinoms predicted the outcome of six out seven correctly being let down only by Leeds loss at Hull. also predicted the Rhinos winner wrongly but also tipped the Giants to beat the Dragons. Both of our predictors average got the margin spot on for the Saints twenty-six point win over the Wildcats.

How will they fare in round fourteen?

After a week off for the CC we return to SL action this weekend here are this weeks previews.

One of the games of the weekend at the Galpharm as the Rat-boy and co arrive with revenge on their minds.

The hosts will be hoping to prove their round one win in Pies-ville was no fluke and increase their grip on the top two.

This should be a belter although the visitors had a much harder task against their biterest rivals in the CC which could have a bruising effect on their efforts.

For Pug and co their cruise against the Broncos will only serve as a training run which is not ideal prep for this match.

A real battle of 2 big packs and some fast backs is on the cards but revenge and that bit more battle hardened approach should see the visitors take the points.

A week off for these two should mean they start the game refreshed and looking to kick on into some good SL form.

The visitors have got some good wins since the begging bowls and woe is us BS and will go into this favourites.

The hosts are just desperate for some winning form after near misses against Wire and the Champs in the CC prior to that.

a reasonable contest but the home side need the points to start climbing the league and rebuild some much needed confidence.

It should be close and a try either way could get the spoils but i think the hosts will just have enough to get the points.

Basil takes his hillbillies East this week to the red half of fish town. The hosts will be hoping for a win to put them back into the top 8 race whilst the Tiggers are desperate to close the gap.

With spanish archer (El-Bow) Chase back the away side will be looking to him to lead them into some consistent winning form.

The hosts have the better team on paper but are so inconsistent it's hard to gauge which team will turn up.

I think the week off will have done the home side more good and enabled them to re-group and start some winning form.

A good home win against a weak and indifferent Cas.

This week the whipping boys welcome the Bouyant B+W half of fish town. The hosts just go from defeat to defeat and already the season can't end quick enough for many involved in the "Cockney" branch of SL.

The Gentle touch arrive after an open top trawler cruise round the Humber after a rare win against the defending Champs last time out.

This week they'll be able to stay in 2nd gear and take the spoils against a team that if it really were a "Bronco" would have been put down by now.

No contest.

The week off could prove to be a blessing for the puddy cats in that they should have got some good work on the training ground done with what is still a new team.

The visitors will be confident after a well deserved win away in France but it was a tough game which could have some effect here.

I've not seen the Refs list as yet but i'll be surprised if Wire can count on Alibert who couldn't count last time these two met which ultimately cost the Wakey team a win.

The home lads should be fresh and come out firing but the Wolves are starting to bite into some form and should have far too much to claw the win.

After cup despair the Dragons will be happy enough to burn their hosts this week and build up their points diference.

The hosts may compete for an hour but once again given that they are the worst team in the league they'll fold eventually.

A good away win for the "October hide 'n' seek champ" and his new team mates.

The game of the weekend at HQ as the Blue 'n' Amber play a home game for the first time in a few weeks.

This week we get the chance to rectify that abysmal effort away at the plastic scousers new flat pack home.

The visitors arrive beaten and bruised after their tough CC loss against the pies.

The Champs should have some quality to return to the 17 and should be sharp after their 10 try fest in Leigh.

It's the fixture that launches Sky's new Monday Night live SL agenda so expect a belter with both having enough reasons for wanting the win.

As always it should have plenty of fire and skill but I expect the rest for some of the Rhinos and the hosts arriving battered and bruised we should get the points and start our charge to the top 4.
