rhinoms Superleague XVII Previews - Round 13
Posted by southstander on May 03 2012 - 07:56:48

by rhinoms

In round twelve it was rhinoms week as he predicted the correct outcome in all seven Super League Games. SouthStander.com mistakenly backed the Dragons and the Reds who fell to the Rhinos and Wildcats respectively.

This weekend sees round 13, and for seven teams that will be unlucky. Which seven will emerge victorious?

Our pundits have a punt.

Read more here....

After a week off for the CC we return to the SL here are this weeks previews.

SAINTS v. WILDCATS

After a week off the visitors will be refreshed for their visit to the new Scouse home.

The hosts will be confident after their demolition job on Oldham in the cup.

A tough task and a long night in store for Agars clawless team but they will have a dig and hope for some positives come full time.

A home banker this week just a case of how many the spirited visitors can keep the score down to.

WARRIORS v. KR

After an almighty scare at Fev in the cup rat-boy and co. return to their squat to face a refreshed Robins team.

The home side will be fired up and looking for buig improvements after the part timers pushed them all the way.

Whining Sandercock will be confident his rested Cockles will test the home side and compete for the points.

A strong start by the visitors but they lack quality and the home side will be too strong and fired up to show last week was a one off.

DRAGONS v. GIANTS

A big game down in Perpignon with the home team looking to bounce back to winning ways in the SL after the way the Champs dismantled them last time out.

The visitors arrive in good form full of confidence and set on cementing their top two spot.

Two huge packs and some quality outside backs will go toe to toe here which makes it a potential battle royale.

The away defeat suffered last time out couped with a great home record should see the Dragons fire once more and get the points from a tough game.

FC v. RHINOS

The Champs travel East for the first time since "Briscoe-gate".

The home sides new owner has nothing to say but has said it too loud recently and the chelping from the local sand worms has reached fever pitch.

The loss of Mckinnon who has realised that the owners rants of becoming best in SL are just wind and BS is a huge blow to the pretenders.

Jjb could be back to boost the Blue 'n'Amber in the pack and after a below par and shaky cup win we will be determined to be better and sharper in all facets of the game.

Plenty of huff and puff from the Reef and the usual giving it large from the terraces but not enough class or know how to beat the Champs.

Another win on the east coast and cue the excuses and from the B+W Morons.

BRONCOS v. BULLS

Another home defeat for the Broncos beckons this week even though they scraped a cup win away at Batley they are still a poor SL team.

The visitors arrive minus bateman who has earned a 3 game rest for a dangerous tackle and although an ordinary team themselves Potters Wands will be too strong for the hosts.

There will be plenty of points and once again it will be one step closer for coach Powell towards getting his P45.

WOLVES v. REDS

The visitors will be confident after pushing the Champs all the way in the cup but will they have enough gas left this week?

The hosts although wining have yet to hit the 2011 heights and TS will be lookng for his team to start upping the gears and gaining more fluency.

The visitors should be competitive enough for about an hour but beyond that i think they'll run out of steam.

A closer than normal encounter but ultimately still a comfortable home win for the Wire.

TIGERS v. VIKINGS

Cas v Widnes. The Dross derby takes place at rock ridge this week where both sides will fancy their chances after a week off.

The hosts are still without sh##-house Chase so alot will depend on OAP Orr to direct the team.

Once again the visitors go into a game hoping to keep the poits against to a minimum but IF they replicate cup exploits of a couple of weeks ago they should test the waltons on home turf.

This could prove to be an entertaining game with both teams useless in defence but I think the home side have the better finishing power out wide.
