rhinoms Superleague XVII Previews - Round 7
Posted by southstander on March 15 2012 - 07:51:22

by rhinoms

Last week was prediction armageddon for our two pundits as shock followed shock.

Despite rhinoms correctly predicting the winning margin for Leeds over the Wolves, he only managed to get three correct winners during the round. also got three correct winners, and spotted the win for the Bulls which rhinoms hadn't considered.

There ara a few more potential banana skins this weekend.

Read more here....

As we enter Round 7 the shocks keep coming not least the Pies taking the "Untouchable" approach to their fixture with Widnes then falling flat on their faces, meanwhile the slump at Saints continues.

Here are this weeks match previews.

Another tough game for the forlorn Tiggers this week as the wagon train hits Huddersfield.

Once again the home team have started strong and sit top of the SL early doors.

The return of Coach Millward can't come soon enough for his struggling side and his input is needed more than ever especially defensively.

For Mono-Brow FRS and Chav Brown they'll be looking to build on their progress thus far and make sure come 10pm Friday night they are still on top of the pile.

I expect a more spirited and much improved performance from John boy Orr and co but doubt they have enough to take the points.

This week the defending Champs visit the new stomping ground of the Reds. The home side will be looking to bounce back after their recent good run came unstuck in France last time out.

For the Blue 'n' Amber they will be looking to keep their recent winning form going after a well deserved battling win last week against the previously unbeaten Wire.

The home team will show plenty of spirit and endevour but I think the way we are playing at the moment we'll have too much power and pace for the home team.

An entertaining game but the quality of the visitors will prove too strong. Rhinos by 14.

A big fixture at the "Armitage Shanks RFL WC" this week. The home team can't buy a win here and the visitors are on a 3 game losing run.

The absence of KFC Graham and the injured Roby is really hitting the plastic scousers hard but for Simmons to stave off the p45 calls they NEED the win this week.

For whispering Potter he's got to see if his mob can replicate their grinding determined efforts at home that have brought them away wins. This is a great chance for the Dulls to take the plastic scousers and cement their 1st home win in front of the TV cameras.

Although early doors the ST's form will be concerning all involved and like the home team they'll be desperate to get a win and I think they'll come good this week.

A tough battle with plenty of huffing and puffing but the Scousers will pick the home sides pocket and take the win.

After blowing a big lead last week the Robins will have to make big defensive improvements to keep the fire of the Dragons at bay.

The home side are making their home ground a real "Dragons Den" with many visitor leaving "out" of points.

The visitors have the pack to compete with their French counterparts but do they have the overall quality from 1-17?

We'll certainly get the answers come full time and I think it will be "Non". Another tough gritty effort from the Red half of Cods-Ville but not enough quality.

Both teams will enter this one buzzing after their efforts last time out. For the visitors they have put the marker down that although clearly the weakest team in SL NO-ONE should take the urine like the Pies tried and got pillaged.

The home side really out mussled the ST's away and earned their win and will be looking to build momentum and show they are the Real deal this year. Expect a much tougher and confident visiting team but the home side should have far too much to net the win.

After losing their unbeaten tag the home side will be looking to get back to winning ways as the bedraggled Wakey enter town.

Once again the visitors fluffed their lines and opportunities last week and ended up losing.

The home side will look to improve on both sides of the ball less errors and more defensive cohesion.

I doubt TS will be interviewed from behind his sulking pet lip this week after a comfortable win against a side clearly not ready for the top teams yet.

Expect a backlash at the Pie the dome after coach Wane got way above his station last time out resting some quality players.

The visitors finally clicked last week got a well-deserved win but do they have the quality to improve on that and do it for the full eighty minutes?

I think the visitors will be competative for an hour but I can't see them having enough to stop the Pies at home especially after their "point and laugh" efforts last week.

A much better effort and win for rat-boy and Hock of the Dead this week. Pies by 18.

If you are travelling to a game have a safe journey and if you are planning to park at Salfords' new ground you can pre-purchase a pass at Headingley for a fiver.

Thanks for reading.
