rhinoms Superleague XVII Previews - Round 5

Shocks for Catalans, Salford and Bradford really upset our pundits last week with both calling all three games wrong.

At least they managed four from seven as the other three games more closely followed form.

How will they do this week as the Rhinos travel to their country cousins, the Warriors play host to the Frenchmen and Saints go to the Galpharm hoping for a better last twenty than they could muster last weekend.

Read more here....

After plenty of shocks last time out I'm going for a string of results that reflect the norm for Super League this week.

Here are the previews of this weeks games.

The big city neighbours ride into rock ridge this week.

After a traumatic week of the field and a poor result on it the home team will be fired up and looking to put all that behind them.

The visitors arrive on the back of a good win away at Widnes and have the luxury of adding Peacock MBE to their ranks after a well deserved rest.

This as always will be explosive early on and the World Champs will be confident their pack can eventually take control and over-run the hosts.

Messrs Chase and Orr will need a much stronger resolve from their pack this week or once again they'll be spending plenty of time under their own sticks.

I expect a better effort from the waltons this week not least because they like to raise their game whenever Leeds come to town but it still won't be enough.

This is one fixture the visitors will have marked in their calendar as two points gained.

The home side however is in much better spirits having sent the FC mob trawling home pointless.

The visitors really can't seem to put 80 minutes together whereas the Reds are finding their flow.

This could go either way but two wins on the bounce has given the Reds more confidence and I think they'll have enough to get the win this week.

After another surprise win the Dulls are back in the RFL owned outside WC. This week the high flying Wire are the visitors and will be far to strong for the hosts.

Whilst they will be no doubt desperate to get a home win the Dulls defence won't be strong enough to stop the rampant Wolves.

With Ratchford ,Myler and "whining beatch" Briers on form and a strong pack laying the platform the best the host can hope for is another couple of lucky scores from Whitehead.

One of the stand out fixtures yet not on T.V.??

After last weeks final 20 minutes I expect the visitors to come out all guns blazing and less hair fluffing from "Tart" Foster.

Once again the Giants are going well and "Chav" Brown ,Pug Robinson and ex Scouse Darling Gilmour will have to be on form along with the other 14 to get the win.

Roby is still leading the Saints threat and doing his best but they seem defensively frail this year and last week highlighted where they need to improve 100%.

I doubt the plastic Scousers will implode twice in a row but I do think in a see-saw battle the home side will have too much fire-power.

This week Wakey head man Agar returns to his last post with a point to prove.

The visitors were in total control last week before completely losing the plot ,penalty count and the game.

The home side will be bitter after losing a close game away at the Reds last time out a result potential top 6 sides don't really produce.

The locals will expect plenty of Mussel from their Whelks and nothing short of netting the win will be good enough for the "Gentle Touch.

Agar will have his team fired up and ready to show their true claws after the farce last time out but I doubt they'll be good enough.

It's the Robins turn to go through some of their training moves this week on their way to two points.

The visitors will take confidence from keeping the World Champs below 50 last week but that won't help this week.

Despite missing some big players the red half of cods-ville will be far too strong for "Gargling Betts" and his bedraggled team.

I think visitors will once again show heart and get stuck in but you need much more to get two points in Super League.

Another great fixture that has escaped the tv cameras although the 40+ pasting the Dragons got on their last visit may have influenced that call. Rat-Boy is once again grabbing the headlines in a strong Wigan start but we are only four games in.

I think the visitors will be buzzing after last weeks amazing come-back but they will know if they give the Pies a 20 point start they won't get the spoils this time.

A tough game with power pace and plenty of skill is the potential of this fixture and I expect a close fought battle but the home side to take the points and once again Clarke will be raw come Monday morning.
