It will be little surprise that Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has been awarded the accolade of SouthStander.com Player of the Season for 2011. This is the third time that the skipper has picked up the award during the eleven years in which you have been voting for your men of the match.|
Sinfield also topped your votes in 2005 and 2009, just missing out last year to Danny McGuire.
Sinfield has led from the front this year and even when the lads seemed down and out he put in 110% effort. Modest in victory and honourable in defeat, he is the consumate professional and with his future secured at Headingley until retirement he will continue to break records and delight the crowds as a career Rhino.
Danny Buderus has had a great season at Leeds too and pushed Sinfield all the way, with the new discovery at centre, Carl Ablett, coming a close third.
The Rhinos 'Clubman of the Year', Jamie Jones-Buchanan, could only manage sixth in your voting and you rated both Rob Burrow and Brent Webb higher over the regular season.
