rhinoms Superleague XVI Previews - Round 21
Posted by southstander on July 07 2011 - 13:26:01

by rhinoms

This week a Rhinos side withouit the services of recently convicted violent thig Rob Burrow take a two game losing streak to the south of France to take on the continually improving Dragons.

The lucky Pies are in London and the Wildcats will be hoping that they can hald the flood of points as the Saints visit.

With the remaining seasons fixtures into single figures the fight for top 8 places is about to intensify.

Here are my views on this weeks fixtures.

FC v. REDS

The unpredictable Reds visit the Reef this week looking to build on a solid win last time out.

For the hosts Birds eye Agar will be hoping his shoal can show some mussle and get some wind into their top 8 sails.

The hosts will be desperate to put pressure on the teams above them and get daylight between those beneath them after losing last time out.

The Reds will be difficult to beat this week but they just don't have enough sole to net the win.

WOLVES v. GIANTS

A huge clash at the Ikea Jones with both looking to maintain their top 2 challenge.

The visitors got back on track with an easy win against the plastic Taffs last time out and they'll be desperate to prove they can play with out the mercurial Mono-Brow.

The hosts cruised last week in Rock ridge but the biggest bite came from their disappointed coach who will expect better this week.

A fiery match and great match up but without their lucky 7 all that will be left for the visitors is the usual whinge form their coach at F/T.

Plenty of action but the hosts will be way too strong.

CRUSADERS v. KR

The hosts welcome the rejuvenated Robins to Wrexham this week.

The Red Mullets have eased the pressure on coach Morgan with some big wins in recent weeks and this looks another nailed on 2 pts.

The hosts will be desperate to get a win and will be boosted by the news of the signing of the Bald Destroyer for the next 2 yrs but he can't help them now.

An end-to-end game but once again I expect the hosts to fall short of the win.

* SS.com estimate revised after seeing this.

QUINS v. WARRIORS

The whipping boys welcome Rat Boy and co this week to the "sarf". The champions are riding their luck with recent wins but they'll not be worried about that this week.

The headlines about RL in fine health down south is the one positive the hosts can take out of a poor year because they won't get anything else this weekend.

A cruise for the Pies.

TIGERS v. BULLS

The deliverance cast welcome Potters pub team this week that returned to their natural level last week in defeat to 12 men.

The hosts will be hopeful of a hoe down this week after a spirited effort in the Pie dome in mid-week.

Every now and again the pothole dwellers perform above their station but that won't happen this week as once again they come up short.

The fiddles will be on fire and banjoes will be dualling as the high 6's and dozy does last into the next fixture.

DRAGONS v. RHINOS

This week the Blue 'n' Amber arrive in the Dragons lair in much better spirits after a much improved performance in the pie-dome where they were robbed.

The Fire of the hosts will prove to another huge test of the Rhinos resolve and another chance to show they have turned the corner in a thus far disappointing season.

General Dureau will really have his les enfants fired up it's time for us to "step up" and show some consistency and prove that this team is better than the performances and results are suggesting.

A cracker in prospect but I expect the Rhino will extinguish the fire of the hosts.

WILDCATS v. SAINTS

After showing their fatigue in recent weeks the last thing JK's unloved need is to face the KFC kid and his mates.

The spirit and endeavor of the hosts can't be questioned but the lack of depth and quality has finally reared it's head at Belle Vue and it's gonna be a long couple of months.

The scousers will just have too much across the park and will show no mercy.
