rhinoms Superleague XVI Previews - Round 5
Posted by southstander on March 09 2011 - 18:28:25

by rhinoms

Both and rhinoms picked up six points last week with their predictions, so they can't be all bad!

What will our intrepid pundits suggest for this weeks match-ups?

Read more here....

This week we enter RD5 and who would of thought the only 100% record belongs to Cas?

Here are my thoughts on this weeks games.

The Rhinos return to HQ after another bruising defeat this time to the Wire and the news doesn't get any better for our lads after it was revealed we have none of our top 4 Props available after Biffa picked up a knee injury and new arrival Cross gets a weeks courtesy of the disciplinary panel. The Visitors arrive after finally getting a good win against Wakey and a reasonable effort in defeat last time out to the Champs.

They too are missing one or two players and also their Coach is away on medical grounds which also protects him from he dreaded vote of confidence from the board.

The squad have delivered more often than not over the last 6/7 seasons so now it's time we did our bit, the chips are down and the pack is decimated by injury so forget the moaning, sniping and ridiculous questioning of the coaching staff get down to the game give the lads your all and I'm sure they'll have enough to get the 2 pts.

Another of the usual challengers for honours are struggling with injuries to key personnel plus the news that "Mcvities Brat" Eastmond returns to home soil after announcing his departure to union and snubbing the faithful V followers.

The visitors are the surprise package from the south who finally had their 1st defeat last time out in a hard fought but ultimately comfortable win for the Giants.

Both teams will be looking for improvements and the hosts will be desperate to show that the injuries and home defeat last time are just a blip. Looks like the "Rusty haired GSOH Cuddly" kid and the Dynamo Roby will be carrying the team again but I think they'll have enough nullify the Quins golden triangle and get the win.

JK's young and unwanted squad return to their home litter tray after been well and truly neutered at Odslum last time out.

This week they entertain the barking Wolves who will be howling after back to back wins over Saints and the Rhinos.

Whilst the hosts will be game and get their claws into their K9 visitors it won't be enough and for the once the Bite will carry more weight than the Bark.

The only unbeaten SL record goes on the line at the Deliverance shed this week where the revitalized Les Enfants are the visitors.

The hosts are looking strong and the Fiddles are on fire and never have so many high 6's and family "get togethers" happened in such a short space of time.

The visitors will be hoping to bring their new found spirit, confidence and heart to the game but whilst I think they've improved it won't be enough to prevent another hoe down.

The much fancied Giants return home to face neighbours and Pot Hole residents the Dulls.

The Giants bombed many chances and needed 1 or 2 Bentham specials to finally get the tries to win against the Quins last time out and will be looking to improve 100%.

The visitors are boosted by a good win against JK's kids last week but they are still not good enough for 2 pts here and coach Potter will need to re-address his spell book.

A tough battle for the visitors and one they will lose and cue the calls for Brough to be M.O.S etc etc.

They've finally got their "Big Willie" out and the Red Mullet faithful will be hoping he can inspire a turn around in their form.

After clamming up last time out against the Tiggers the hosts will be looking to Mussel up and dispatch the poor Welshmen.

The visitors can't buy a win after their opening destruction of the hapless Salford side and it won't get any easier for junior SL coach Harris and co.

The Champs host Birdseye and his Whelks this week amid rumours of a "star departure".

The visitors will be buoyed by the win against the Taffs last time out but it's a different proposition at the Pie dome nowadays.

The home side will have far too much for the Trawling visitors and expect them to be sent Skate (ing) back to the Reef pointless.

There may be a centre allegedly missing for the Crusty hosts but they'll still have enough gravy for the win.

If you are traveling to a game safe journey and if you are heading to HQ sing yer heart out for the lads!
