This week finally return the nations capital to witness hopefully another CC win for our beloved Rhinos here are my thoughts.
Wembley beckons this week, and in our way are the current Cup holders, and our former Field Marshall, Tony Smith.
A win this week will cement this squad in many fans eyes as "THE" Dynasty in the history of our great club.
I wasn't fortunate enough to see the likes of Lewis Jones in his pomp, nor do I have the defining memories of the late great John Holmes that so many others have, and sometimes I feel jealous of hearing of their exploits.
What I do have though is the "Honour" in my opinion, of watching this current squad grow up together come through our academy and play with the heart, drive, and passion that matches the fans very own feelings.
These guys have Blue 'n' Amber running through their veins and Win or Lose their "Dynasty" is already cemented in our history but a Win would be the "Coup de Gras" in my eyes.
There is of course a tough game in prospect not least because of the presence of the likes of our old boys such as Morely, Mathers and Tony Smith who will look to plot our demise.
This reminds of 1999 in that we had to "beat the best, to be the best" well we have dispatched Hull, Wigan and our Cup nemesis Saints so if we beat the Wire who hold the trophy then we have completed that journey.
As many of you know I have had the pleasure to be involved in a close knit professional outfit during my time in the RN the kind that demands that extra yard that extra commitment and of course professionalism. This squad epitomize that in abundance and whilst we have the current international conflicts I'm loathe to use the term "Heroes" but be in no doubts at all this team are our "Sporting Heroes" and they inspire and produce week in week out.
Yes it will be tough, and like the semi we will struggle at times, but come the hour come the team these lads will stand tall and as one do the business or give their last breath trying.
We are gonna be out in force this weekend so safe journey to all.
Wear your colours, wave yer flags and sing yer hearts out for the lads!
Rhinos by eight.
