Rhinoms Superleague XV Previews - Round 24

It's the final countdown.

Now tell me that the 'Europe' lyrics didn't spring into your head!

Just four weeks left for our regular season predictors.

Read more here....

As the fight for play-off places continues the business end of the season is on the horizon.

Here are my thoughts on this weeks fixtures.

RHINOS v. WARRIORS

The game of the weekend league leaders against the reigning champs at HQ under the lights and on SKY.

The hosts will be hoping for and will need the steely defensive effort they showed in the cup game a few weeks back. The visitors arrive after losing to Wire but bouncing back in style to destroy the Cod-eads last time out.

Both teams will want to lay down a marker for various reasons for the Rhinos it's about showing we aren't done yet and for the Pies they want to keep showing that they are the champs elect.

Some cracking battles all over the park but for me the key will be keeping the supply to Richards to a minimum and our pack laying a platform for Buderus to get some speed around the ruck.

A real humdinger in store and a game not to be missed.

QUINS v. FC

The hosts have nothing but pride to play for and welcome Birds eye Agar and his shoal desperate to bounce back from last weeks battering.

The hosts were also well beaten last time out and again showed they are a real Jekyl and Hyde this year.

The fishy visitors will also want to keep the race for 4th wide open so they'll have more desperation to win.

I really do think that the visitors desperation could prove their undoing in this one and the Quinns are a team that will lose heavily then bounce back and beat a top 6 team.

A home win for me and a long Trawl back up North for the sponge bob cast. Quins by 7.

WOLVES v. SAINTS

Another cracker of a fixture when the Saints visit their SL play things. This time however the Wire have actually beaten one of the big three and will be very confident of turning a depleted Saints team over.

The hosts will be desperate to get this monkey off their backs and show they are serious challengers for the double.

I think potter may rest some of his battle weary squad with the CC semi in mind and that will open the door for a 1st Wire win in ages.

BULLS v. DRAGONS

The crater of dreams faithfull will actually be quite confident this week they face a team with everything depending on their CC semi so it should be 2 points.

The visitors have nothing to play for other than pride and maybe 1 or 2 fringe players will be able to cement a place in the 17 for the semi next week.

A real nothing fixture but a little confidence boost for old man Menzies and his average mates.

CRUSADERS v. REDS

Another chance for the Welsh to take a step closer to the top 8 and continue to prove all doubters wrong.

The visitors have had some good results this year and didn't disgrace themselves last time out against the champs.

This is a game the Taffs need to win to keep the top eight dream alive but if they underestimate the Reds they will come unstuck.

Another good solid effort from McRae's men but to no avail.

GIANTS v. WILDCATS

The hosts put the cleaners through a poor Quins team last time out and will be confident against a shot Wakey outfit.

Old twitchy Kear just can't get his team going and it's no surprise really when he was apparently courting other jobs earlier.

The puddy cats are really mange ridden and just need putting out of their misery for this season and I expect the final nail in their top 8 coffin this week.

The Hosts will win well and boost their form going into the later rounds of SL but any talk of "the next big thing" should be laughed off.

KR v. TIGERS

The wagon train heads east this week and after last weeks hiccup in Wales they will face an even bigger challenge from the red half of Codsville. The visitors are light in the pack after losing 2 of their props and a game they had control in.

Justin Morgan will have his Red Snappers ready to fire and expect them to put a big dent in the Cas hopes of an invite to the end of season hoe down.
