rhinoms Superleague XV Previews - Round 14
Posted by southstander on May 14 2010 - 09:13:01

It's half-way in Superleague XV as we hit game fourteen and take on the high-flying Warrington Wolves.

Our prediction experts go two-one in favour of a Warrington win over the champions in tonights game at Headingley, but which one has stuck loyally by his team?

After a break for the Challenge Cup we are back in SL action this week, here are my thoughts on the upcoming fixtures.

This is the stand out fixture of the round in my opinion so I'm surprised that SKY have decided to show Wakey v Dulls.

This is a huge game for both teams, for us it's a chance to lay down a marker and show we are back on the up this year. For our visitors after losing to the Pies and Saints it's a chance to show they are serious challengers this year.

Both teams have injury doubts and I expect a bumper crowd and more tension than at a hung parliament meeting. Again like before I've found the Blue'n'Amber specs for this one and expect the Champs to win the day in a tense encounter.

Two teams that are hoping to return to winning ways in the SL this week for differing reasons.

For the home team they will be hoping to bounce back after dominating the Champs for 40 minutes they were distraught when they failed to see it through in the 2nd half but like the old saying goes it's a game of 80 minutes.

The Bulls arrive after a poor effort against the Crusaders in which they reverted to the average team we know them to be. The England coach elect will hope for 100% improvement from his team and JK's finger will be twitching like a Tory MP's sphincter at a coalition meeting.

I think the hosts will be buoyed by their efforts against the champs and have too much for the Grattan land fill residents. Wakey by 7.

The hosts return home after the annihilation they suffered at the Magic weekend and they will be hoping for a much improved effort against the "On fire" Saints.

The news that coach Potter is getting on his broom and going home seems to of boosted the Brookside wannabes and they racking up the points at will. It's going to be a long night for the home team and McRae has as much chance of seeing out the season as Gordon Brown does of waking up still the P.M.

The home team will be boosted by their narrow victory in the cup last week when they did everything possible to blow it.

At times against the Crusaders they looked like Bosc was back to his inspiring best and the rampaging Sa looked unstoppable. The visitors will arrive after a week off and looking to kick start their season at a plaice they have a good record although they are missing some of their big fish.

I think that the Les enfants will improve on their defensive effort last week and have too much mussel for the fish fingered visitors.

A game that the hosts will be confident of winning after their recent upturn in league form.

The visitors "caravan of love" arrives down south after boosting their confidence with a SL win last time out and they will be hoping for another "hoe down" at full time.

The Quinns really are picking up form and with their better players returning are looking decent, they will be confident of beating the visitors who arrive on the back of rumours of their better players leaving, fighting, and a coach on his way out.

I expect Brian Mcs multi-coloured swop shop lads to prevail and spoil the "Barn dancing" visitors.

A really tough ask for hosts this week after their bubble was "exploded" by a rampant Wire last week.

This week the "Crusty" league leaders will be looking to cement their top spot and showing that the hosts really are "pretenders" to the throne. The hosts will have to respond to last weeks hammering but with the news that coach Brown has had enough and is leaving at the end of the season it will be a tough ask for them to rise to the occasion in front of a crowd that resembles a Tory majority.

HKR v Crusaders. A battle the home team should relish this week.

They are visited by the "plastic" welsh this week who will be hoping their defence won't be as bad as the hosts last efforts.

It could turn out to be a points fest after both teams showed the resolve a soggy Kit-Kat last time out.

The hosts really need to respond and with Morgan rumoured to be on his way I think they'll come good and have too much for the visitors.
