rhinoms Superleague XV Preview - Round 9
Posted by Number 2 on March 30 2010 - 17:15:50

New Tipster
by rhinoms

Last week saw Number 2 and rhinoms tied with four points each. At least it was one better than SouthStaner.com who trailed in a point behind. In the league table overall it is a closer margin with Number 2 now two points ahead of SouthStander with rhinoms still trailing behind with some catching up to do.

How will our predictors fare this week?

So the mad Easter period is upon us here's my previews for Round 9

RHINOS v. BULLS

The big West Yorkshire derby gets its first installment of the season on Thursday and I for one can't wait.

McBanana rolls into town with his Manly led team looking to reinforce the Dulls in the top 8 and add to the Champs current troubles.

For the Rhinos the squad should be reinforced by the return of 1 or 2 quality players and heartened by a gutsy display at the pie-dome just in time to show the men from the crater of dreams who's boss in this part of Yorkshire.

All huff and no puff from the visitors as the ascent up the league begins for the Champs.

CRUSADERS v. QUINS

An intriguing match up in Wrexham where the improving "refreshers" are the visitors.

The hosts are doing much better than many predicted whilst the Quins seem to be improving after their hiding at HQ a couple of weeks ago.

If you believe the press the Welshman could be reinforced by the arrival of Schifcofske and Jarrod Sammut which will improve their squad.

A valiant effort by Brian Mc's rainbows but the Welsh will just be too strong.

GIANTS v. DRAGONS

Very much a revenge mission for the Galpharm men after the Dragons dispatched them from last years play-offs.

The home team will also be hoping to prove that their bubble hasn't burst after last weeks defeat to Saints.

A much needed morale boosting win for the Catalans last week but I don't think they'll repeat last years victory.

ROVERS v. FC

The Captain Birdseye derby at Caravan Park with both teams coming off away defeats they'd expect to win.

For the Red half of the City they have to prove letting their "problem child" leave wasn't a mistake whilst Stig will be hoping that their efforts at Salford were just a blip.

Plenty of fire in this one with both teams getting battered but the Robins to scrap to a win.

WILDCATS v. TIGERS

The "Deliverance" derby at the hearwell this week sees the home team coming off the back of an away beating at Wire and the visitors scraping an home win against the welsh.

Wakey will be keen to get back on the winning trail in front of their home fans whilst the visitors will be desperate to win at the place they were relegated a few seasons ago.

A tough battle is promised but I expect the home team to be bopping to Cotton Eye Joe at FT.

WOLVES v. REDS

A confidence boosting win last time out put McRae's call to job center plus on hold.

Whilst the Reds were getting a very important win against the trawler men the Wire were dispatching Wakey with relative ease as they build on their good start to the season.

A tough afternoon ahead for the Reds.

SAINTS V. WARRIORS

Another derby to look forward to and the Saints are building some momentum despite some injuries.

They went to the Giants last week without Usain Wellens and marquee signing McVities Soliola and put on a good win to keep themselves in touch at top of the league.

This is a big test for the pies they were made to work very hard for the win against a depleted Leeds last week and looked like they picked up some knocks of their own.

Despite what Clarke and Hemmings think the SL is far from decided in March and the pies will be reminded of that in this one.
