rhinoms Superleague XV Preview - Round 6
Posted by southstander on March 11 2010 - 07:58:29

New Tipster
by rhinoms

After a disasterous first week of predicting for rhinoms, not much bettered by Number 2 and yours truly, our new preview guru steps up to the plate for the second time and a chance to regain some pride.

There are just 24 shares left to take part for the predictions cash prize - so get yours now.

Thanks for the well wishes last week but remember, going by last weeks actual results, don't take the previews as a guide for having a flutter!

Here are my thoughts on Round 6 of Super League XV;

After a morale boosting win against Harry's less than magical Saints the Robins will be up for this and the return of Galea will boost them further.

As for the boys from Royston Wakey well what can you say, since they won their cup final they've battled to a defeat against Saints and were humiliated at home by the Giants.

It looks like the Mercurial mono-brow and his Wakey charges have had their bubble well and truly burst and I expect more furious finger twitching from Kear come full time.

I expect a hard fought battle between two well matched packs and both having differing fortunes last week.

The pies must of thought SL was a doddle at HT last week 20-0 up and cruising well as we Rhinos fans know that's not quite how this league works.

After an Orford inspired come-back the Pie bubble was popped quicker than the "unbeaten all season" threads were deleted from their fans board.

The Cod-heads dispatched an injury hit Tiggers outfit without their great unwashed talisman and will be confident although it won't do much good imo. After last week I expect the Pies to bounce back and just be too strong at home.

After their now "annual" defeat to the Robins away Harry's mob will be wanting to put a "spell" over nobbys misfits.

The KR faithful are growing restless by the minute but no-doubt they will be appeased this week at least.

Whilst the Welsh have been boosted by the arrival of the "only Thomas in the village" I think Saints will cruise this one.

Whilst the Wire were easily cruising past the Crusaders the Bulls were upsetting the form book.

The expected rout happened at the Halliwell Jones but an Orford inspired comeback gave the Odsal few a real boost especially after a poor 1st half.

I expect Wire to be smarter than Wigan were though and dispatch of the Bulls after another "McBanana inspired false dawn" Wire by 14.

The Frenchmen finally got their 1st win of the season last week against a hapless reds outfit and that will boost them no end especially the performance of their new center Sa.

After the "Dualling Banjos" were conceding 40 away at Hull the last thing Matterson needed this week was a long trip over the channel with a decimated squad.

The tiggers are another side who have failed after their "cup final" and with their ever growing injury list I see them failing again this week.

What can I say about this game other than Zzzzzzzzz.

The Quinns are really doing tough with a decimated squad lacking direction, confidence and real quality.

The Reds however looked OK against us at HQ and only lost by 7 at home to the Dulls, however last week will really of dented their confidence and McRae must have job center plus on his speed dial.

I actually don't think that McRae will need that number just yet and the tale of woe will continue for Brian Mc's refreshers.

This is the pick of the games in my opinion, too big mobile packs coming off the back of crushing victories.

Last season when the Fartowners have been "bigged up" before a meeting with us they failed to live up to that billing and the Rhinos crushed them at home 34-6.

I don't see it happening this year though and I'm expecting fireworks all over the park with some mouthwatering match ups.

Ear'"don't call me Shirley" Crabtree v "Concrete" Leuleui, Fa'alogo v Beastwood, J"mungo jerry"jb V Lee" I miss smithy" Gilmour are just a few to look forward to.

Interestingly the RFL have appointed Richard"G'day Melbourne" Silverwood for this clash so lets see which rules are enforced this week!

Hopefully there'll be no mention of the whistle blower and the game will live up to it's billing which I think it will with the Record Making Champs coming home with the spoils.
