Fans Push the Champions 'All the Way'
Posted by southstander on May 05 2005 - 17:24:33

A fantastic night was had by all who attended the 'Barrie's Bar Olympics' event at Headingley last night. Barrie was joined by a ten of his team mates to take on the supporters at a whole variety of bar games including; Pool, Snooker, Darts, Snakes and Ladders, Pictionary and the now famous...Flip Frog.

Everyone who attended got a game of something against a player, and many played two or three times as the supporters tried to get one over on the World Champions.

We took these photos of the nights events.

Chev gets the hang of playing Booby-trap!

There has never been a more focused Dominos player than Andrew Dunemann.

Rob Burrow turned out to be a brilliant wordsmith at Pictionary.

Cool Calders took on all-comers at Pool.

Barrie took over on the Booby-trap.

Wardy humbled on the snooker table.

Disco found more ladders than snakes.

Mathers tried his hand at Flip Frog...

...but Scrutes was the undefeated Champion.

In the end the players beat the supporters by 36-26, and with a great raffle and auction of items donated by Barrie himself we raised over £1,500 for Barries Charities and his Testimonial Fund. The players mingled all night, and were relaxed amongst their fans, contributing to a fantastic atmosphere.

Thanks to all the players who attended, the marshalls and referees of the various games, and all of those who turned up and made it an unforgettable night.
