If Only We Had More Of The Rhinos Factor In This City
Reading the history makers I was pretty impressive because it gave me an insight into how a local successful club ran. For the first time I came across Kaizen which is Japanese for improvement. It worked well for a lot of Japanese Businesses and is now the driving force behind Leeds Rhinos recent success.
In all Kaizen eliminates waste and I see a lot of waste in this city at the moment. For example how about the now empty 'Royal park School' thatís not too far from the stadium. Just imagine if we applied Kaizen to buildings like this it would pay dividends. It would certainly be an improvement to the community and itíll keep improving it once open.
If the Rhinos can become World Champions in Leeds then why canít nightclubs become world champions in Leeds?
It really touched a nerve last year when I found out that Newcastle was beating us in the nightlife stakes, according to some survey. Maybe the nightlife innovators of Leeds ought to pull together and make Leeds the best place in the world when it comes to having a good time. Apply Kaizen and it may just happen.
Another waste we have in this city is the many unemployed. The organisations to get people back into work are absolutely useless, and resemble the job club ran by Pauline from the 'League of Gentleman'. Your just sat in a miserable room with a load of miserable people including staff. Just maybe if Kaizen was applied in these organisations the unemployment of this city just fall.
Kaizen in my opinion should be tried at many problems throughout the city including healthcare, homelessness, transport, shopping and entertainment.
Hopefully the city may take note and follow more of the Rhino way!
