Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Preview - Round 24

Four games to go to the end of the season and his Tadness is sitting pretty in equal top position in the 2009 prediction tables. Oldham Rhino and SouthStander are not totally out of the competition but Tad is going to have to slip up badly and the other do particularly well.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 24;

RHINOS v. TIGERS

A big crowd should be at HQ on friday as these two sides will try to match the thriller earlier in the season at a 'damp' Wheldon Road. This is a big game for both sides, Leeds going for top spot and Cas trying to make the play-offs. This is a fascinating prospect.

Both sides will try to win the battle up front and this, for me, will be where the game is won and lost. Both sides have good halves and class in the backs. I can see a tight game with end to end action and a real classic in store. Should be tight but I fancy Leeds to edge it.

WARRIORS v. WOLVES

These two meet for the second time in 6 days after the semi final thriller last weekend. The Wolves, tactically, hammered the Warriors and nobby will be desperate to get the season back on track in the league. With Wembley assured it's a puzzler as to how the Wolves will approach this. Nobody will want to get injured while Wigan will be after revenge. Like the Leeds game I can see a real cracker at the only stadium named after a narcisitic ex-chairman!

Wigan to gain some revenge I feel and to win by 14.

DRAGONS v. FC

Hull have been terrible this season and they can't wait for the season to end. They meet a Dragons team who are just starting to get on a roll. The Dragons should be far to strong all over the pitch for the codheads and it could get embarrassing by the final whistle.

QUINS v. REDS

This is a real puzzler. Both teams are very hit and miss and this game could be anything. It could be a shocking game or a great, end to end game. The Reds, for me, have done OK this season and a couple of good signings for next year should see them do well next season. The quins should be to strong and I can see them winning this one.

GIANTS v. BULLS

Like the Wolves, Huddersfield put so much effort in last week that I can see them struggling a bit today. The Bulls had a great win last week but there season is dead. There is no way they will make the playoffs. How the mighty have fallen. The Bulls will fancy this one, and a win for them wouldn't shock me, however, I'm going for the Giants to nick this one.

WILDCATS v. CRUSADERS

The Crusaders are already looking to next season and hopefully they will get another win before the season is out. With there injury list, and the Wildcats having far to much class, should see a home win. It's just a case of by how many.

KR v. SAINTS

Like Leeds, Saints are not as strong as last season and there injuries are begining to bite. The Giants were too good for them last week and while Long should be back they will probably have lost Cunningham and Eastmond. The Rovers have got back on track and with a big pack and the inform Dobson behind them I really fancy Rovers to get the points.

Rovers by 14.
