EmmaMur01 Superleague XIV Preview - Round 21

With Tad still breaking rocks in Siberia, the honour of this weeks previews falls to EmmaMur01.

You lucky lucky lot. As Tad is on holiday, I am doing the preview this week, so thought I would put a ‘female perspective’ on the matter in hand.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 21;

One of my friends is a Hull KR fan. I went with him to watch Batley V Hull KR pre season. My friend stated that Hull KR would be in the grand final at the end of the season. I laughed in his face, almost hysterically. A few months ago, I had second thoughts, but have now come to my senses. Team after team have come along with a big invisible needle and popped their bubble.

In fact you could say that they are the ‘Burberry’ team of Super League. They try hard to be a designer team, but fall short.

Leeds on the other hand will be boosted by a last minute try last week at Wakefield, despite putting in a poor performance. The discipline nearly cost us, and this is an area that Bluey really needs to work on. Having said that, we turned it on when we needed to, and I think that Leeds will again gain a victory this week, although is Sinfield is missing, it will be closer than I would like

Rumour has it that the gates will be closed as early as 6.00 due to the 4.78 million fans that Hull Kr are bringing, so get there early.

Hull FC have been saved as the laughing stock of Super league, only because ‘Bratfud’ are worse. They are slowly siding down the table, and the hiding they got at Cas will not have helped their confidence. I suppose you could liken them to a pair of flats. Because that’s exactly what they are... flat, boring and no glamour. Celtic got a good win last week, but I fear for them at Hull, because no matter how bad Hull are, Celtic this season are much worse.

The Jekyll and Hyde of Super League V the Tigers. If Hull Kr are Burberry, Cas are Gola. Trying hard but not quite one of the big boys yet, although they did have a good win against Hull.

Salford on the other hand are playing on the back of a loss to bottom team Celtic. I can see another Salford loss here.

Stains V Wakey. I have a soft spot for Wakey and as much as I would like them to win this one, I cant see it. Stains all the way for me, although how they deal with their growing injury list may see Wakey thinking that they can snatch a win here.

Two very inconsistent teams. The ‘chic French’ V ‘Big city boys’ in the local derby. A win for Catalan, only because they have home advantage, although McDermott may see this as a ‘should win.’

Huddersfield have improved in leaps and bounds this year, and Warrington are starting to find some form, although I do feel that Smith may be concentrating on the Challenge Cup this year. However I think that Warrington will snatch this one.

Oh dear. Lets all laugh at Bradford. Wigan have had a turbulent year. Off the field problems and a growing injury list for the ex glamour boys of rugby league will make this match an interesting contest, against the team that has had a massive fall from grace. I think Wigan will win this one, and will it spell the end for MacNamara and increase the intensity of the rumours about Burgess?
