Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Preview - Round 17

Eleven more Superleague rounds to go and we're back in second spot after last weeks win over the Giants, against Tads tip.

This week we're off to the Quins with a chance that they could overtake us if they win by sixteen or more points. The other teams close behind us also look like they are having easier games, so at the end of the weekend we could be back to fifth. Read more here....

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 17;

Friday nights SKY game comes from the Galpharm and lets hope it's as good as the recent cup game between the sides. The Giants came unstuck at Leeds last week when they maybe should have taken the points. Had they come with a positive attitude instead of coming to niggle they may have got the win. the Tiggers are on a downward spiral and are in desperate need of a win. I don't think it will be on friday though. Giants by 14.

Hull, as I predicted, were dire at Wakey last week. Only a couple of individual scores made the result look repectable as wakey were head and shoulders better than them. Salford have an uncompromising pack and the enigmatic Myler directing behind them. This is a tough one to call, it really would not shock me to see the Reds take the win but I think hull may just scrape home.

Warrington will be glad Tony Smith is back after last weeks shocking display against the Bulls, as they have a tough trip to play the Dragons. Les Cats are formidable at home but with the game being played in Spain the Wolves may just find it easier. I fancy smith to get Wire back on track and return with the 2 points.

This is oh so difficult to predict. The Quins play error free, safety first rugby and make you work for every metre. Not only that but Brian Mac has created a tough and very good side who nobody will fancy meeting in the play offs. For Leeds to win this they must play a near perfect game. Respect possession, have a good kick chase game and above all the discipline must be good or we will have no chance. I have a good feeling about this one, I really fancy us to put on a good display and return with the points. I also fancy McGuire and Burrow to have big games.

The Crusaders had a superb win last week and will try to take the feel good factor into this weeks game. Rovers bubble has burst and they will be desperate for a win, any kind of win. I think they will get it this week too. They will be to strong for the boys from the valleys. Rovers by 16.

The Bulls will be looking to do the double over Saints this sunday but Saints will be smarting from the reverse fixture earlier this season. The Bulls, despite a couple of good wins, are still a very poor side with a clueless coach. I fully expect Saints to hammer them and give MacBanana a further chance to dust off his" i can see light at the end of the tunnel, we gave everything and were robbed" speech. Saints by 24.
